Naeresys stood in the dragon pit alongside her brothers, Aegon and Aemond. Her nephews, Jacaerys and Lucerys, were also there.

They stood there as Naeresys went inside the dragon pit to retrieve her Dragon, The Cannibal or Cain as she likes to call him.

The beautiful black dragon was known as the Cannibal for his enormous appetite for other dragons. When her father had heard that she had claimed him, he worried about what that meant for the other dragons around the dragon pit, but as soon as Cain got to the dragon pit, Naeresys didn't leave him alone until she was certain he knew that he wasn't allowed to eat the dragons.

The Cannibal was the largest and oldest of the wild dragons. Naeresys had claimed him when she was just seven years old when she went with her father to Dragonstone and wandered upon him.

Though having claimed him at a young age, she was only to ride him properly two years later as her mother forbade her to go near the dragon after she brought him back from Dragonstone.

"Princess, are you sure? We can do this." The Master trainer asked in High Valyrian. "Master, if you do not wish to be eaten, leave it to me," Naeresys responded as Cain walked towards her.

"She knows High Valyrian?" Jace asked in a hushed tone. "Of course she does. Naeresys has been learning since she was able to talk. Father says that her first words were cunt in High Valyrian." So Aemond told him, with a slight smirk, feeling proud of his twin.

"Easy, Cain, listen, and you will be rewarded," Naeresys told her dragon as he growled, hating the thought of listening.  "Princess, shall we bring the food?" One of the dragon trainers asked. Naeresys nodded, and they walked down the dragon pit.

"Listen and you will be rewarded, disobey, and I will starve you," Naeresys told him harshly. She usually wouldn't talk to her dragon like that, but she had learned that during feeding time, it was when her dragon would rebel the most.

He was not used to just not eating whatever dragon he could find, and lately, he has been getting better, but of course, he's not perfect. A three-legged dragon was brought up from the dragon pit, and Cain immediately looked at her and went to charge. "Cain! Halt. Obey, serve, do not go near her until I say." Naeresys couldn't afford to have her dragon not listen to her since he was also known for burning and eating humans.

Cain stopped, growls escaping his mouth and his throat itching with fire. He looked over at Naeresys, seeing if he would follow her orders.

The trainer with the three-legged dragon tied her off and ran, waiting to see what would happen between the princess and her wild dragon. "If I could give advice, stand before the food princess. He will not dare hurt you and will listen to what you say." As the words left the Master Trainer's mouth, all the boys became of edge, but Naeresys liked that idea, she knew that Cain wouldn't hurt her, and even if he did, dragons don't burn.
