Shang Li was quiet, almost invisible when he and Ashanti had stopped three hours beforehand. He seemed to be both waiting patiently and sizing Ashanti up, not entirely sure of what to make of her.
When Ashanti decided that she was done running, she found a nice clearing with a small stream and drank from it. A rather large and endearing purple butterfly had crossed her path and she was bounding after it, all 450lbs of her. She did find it fun, but her true purpose was to figure out if Shang Li was going to stay, and if so, she needed time to think about why and what she should do.
Ashanti stopped abruptly, transformed back into her human form, and asked "Your name?"
Shang Li was slightly caught off guard, but answered.
A silence grew between them, and Ashanti's constant loneliness forced her to try and make conversation, which she had not done in the past 30-40 years.
"So...What are you?" Came out rather harshly, even to her own ears.
"...Many people call me many names. I think Vampire is the most suitable." Shang Li answered, his lips barley moving and his eyes staring directly into Ashanti's own. She found it unnerving, seeing how he never blinked, but decided it was also endearing, earnest almost.
She smiled and gave her back a good arch and leaped right on Shang Li.
His eyes widened a bit, but eventually he grew accustomed to the now house cat and decided that if he were forced to spend the rest of eternity with someone, it would have to be with an interesting catch like her.

Ashanti and Shang Li ventured out of the forest and onto a main road, one jammed packed full of cars. Ashanti's mouth opened in shock while Shang Li's face remained undisturbed except for his eyes that slightly widened in disbelief.

Ashanti knew she was a rather reclusive creature, so it wasn't odd to find the humans with new toys every century or so, but these magical moving carriages were beyond belief.
Shang Li regathered his composure and started to walk alongside the road, heading towards the huge city. Ashanti understood his intentions and aptly followed after him, soon hoping up on his shoulder.

A few miles later, a red sedan stopped just ahead of them and a young pretty blonde rolled down the passenger side window.
"You need help getting anywhere?" Shang Li looked a bit confused at first, but soon answered her with a yes and hopped right into her car. Ashanti tagged along, whipping her tail back and forth. The ride was awkward because of Shang Li's lack of conversational skills, and he didn't even seem to notice the driver's presence.
When they arrived in the city, Shang Li hopped out and kept walking forward, not even thanking the blonde for her trouble.
Ashanti giggled at his lack of manners, but followed closely behind.

About 8 miles into the city Shang Li and Ashanti were too amazed for words.

Humans had pretty much entered the world of magic, from what the odd couple could tell. Humans had portable pads where they could talk to loved ones anywhere instantly. They could also fly and swim with the deepest sea creatures around. They even had domesticated, to some extent, wild beasts, which Ashanti took great offense to. Granted, she was the big boss of all creatures who was infamous for never being seen, so it wasn't weird for the humans to take advantage of her folklore and write it off as that, folklore, without fearing the consequences. Not to mention the carriages that seemed to be on some sort of magical boost.

Ashanti and Shang Li had no idea of where to begin, and seeing as how they couldn't even fathom as to how they would conceal their true selves from human eyes, they did the next best thing.

They seduced the first human to round the corner.
