She was a ray of sunshine,
He was a moonbeam.
Together,
they went through the different phases of the moon.
Phases after phases,
cycles after cycles,
they endured and climbed mountains,
swam oceans,
flew to the moon and sought after a myriad of stars.
They followed where the stars led them to,
not knowing they'd find each other.
Just like how the stars led them to each other,
It was also the stars who distanced them apart.
Reminiscing all these memories through the beauty of the stars,
She would want to go back to the days when she was still fifteen.
At fifteen,
she started expressing her voice through writing.
He discovered her talent.
She discovered his as well.
Their love for writing bloomed their camaraderie.
She remembered sending all her books to him,
for he liked how she expressed her voice through her books.
What made her happy was that he read all her books in one sitting.
Two years ago,
she found a friend in him.
He was a friend she dearly valued.
She was someone who disturbed his peace.
His world used to be serene,
but when she came,
things changed.
Noises surrounded him.
For once,
he tried getting rid of the noise.
But deep down,
he became accustomed and grew fond of it.
Roller coasters comprised their bond.
Highs and lows,
waves and tides,
summers and winters,
he was there to understand every bits and pieces of her.
It was so endearing,
fascinating,
interesting,
how a pure camaraderie then shifted to something inexplicable.
It was when she felt all the stars telling her that what she's felt about him has always been there.
No matter how many times her heart ached for the others,
It was only him who can mend her wounds.
Day after day,
they'd tell each other about their dreams.
His dreams, her dreams.
Their dreams weren't exactly so similar.
He had a vision in this world,
she had hers too.
She dreamt of rainbows and butterflies;
he dreamt of thorns and chaos.
He was night,
she was day.
He was the moon,
she was the sun.
She gave him light to shine amidst the dark.
He gave her the stars to guide her wherever she goes.
Now that he's no longer around,
the stars he gave her remained in her heart.
The memories they've had will never be forgotten.
It was something so deep, soft and intimate.
Someday,
when the stars align,
they'll meet again.
At seventeen,
he gave her the stars and chased the dark.
She was left alone with the stars.
Heartbreaking,
but she knew
that whatever they had-
whatever it was,
was real.
For the first time in forever,
something meant so much to her.
At seventeen,
she thinks of him from afar.
She told herself,
"Wherever he goes, whatever he does,
he will always have this place in my heart."
At seventeen,
she cried about wanting to be fifteen again.
Being fifteen again would mean meeting him once more.
And if only,
just maybe,
she'd want to give him back the stars he gave her.
