Chapter 6 - Awakening

'He' was woken up to a tickling on his chin. It was Roxy's tail, which was wagging a little in her sleep.

{Why is her tail touching my chin. She shouldn't be close enough to do that.}

It was too dark to see. He couldn't tell how close she was. Assuming it was still early morning, he went back to sleep only to be woken up again an hour later by Roxanne and her tail. This time, it was wrapped around him. Opening his eyes, he found himself face to face with the sleeping wolf, only inches apart.

{Ah. This is... awkward.}

Roxy had her left arm and tail draped over his waist, her right hand against his chest. 'He' had his right arm over her. Roxy's fur was warm, silky smooth and soft, or what little he could feel of it anyway. 'He' lay there thinking about what he should do but didn't have time to come up with a solution as Roxanne opened her eyes and they both stared at each other completely unsure of what to do.

'Him': "Uh... What time is it?"

Taking the excuse to move, Roxy checked her phone?

Roxy: "It's... Seven forty-five."

'Him': "When does the pizzaplex open?"

Roxy: "Nine thirty, but the first show isn't until twelve."

'Him': "What about convincing the staff as you put it?"

Roxy: "Oh, I forgot about that. Yes, I will go now then."

'Him': "See you later then?"

Roxy: "Nuh-uh, you're coming with me."

'Him': "Why?"

Roxy: "You ain't staying all alone out here."

'Him': "I have done for a while. What's different about today?"

Roxy: "How am I supposed to talk to you about stuff if you aren't there to talk to?"

'Him': "True."

Roxy: "And the management team will probably need to talk to you before giving the go-ahead."

'Him': "Also true. Alright, makes sense now."

Roxy: "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's get going!"

'Him': "Gimme a minute."

Roxy: "No, now!"

Roxanne grabbed his hand and dragged him all the way to the pizzaplex as fast as she could.

Roxy: "Stay here in my room. That way, the manager will know where to find you."

'Him': "As will everyone else if they tell anyone but okay."

Roxy: "They wouldn't dare do anything. They should know me well enough by now."

'Him': "Thanks, Roxanne."

Roxy: "It's nothing, and after the past few days of fun I've had, I couldn't do no less than return the favour."

'Him': "You are just the best."

Roxy's eyes widened with a spark of hope on her face.

Roxy: "You really think so?"

'Him': "Of course."

Roxanne smiled before leaving the room, leaving 'him' alone to think about the past and the possibilities of the future. The door opened, interrupting his train of thought.

Chica: "Hey Rox- Oh hi, I didn't know you were here."

'Him': "Hey Chica, yeah Roxy dragged me here."

Chica: "Do you know where she is at all?"
