The pizzaplex was yet again closed for the New Year and would remain closed until the beginning of February. The band had noticed a change in Monty after 'he' had talked to him due to the speaker incident. They asked what was said, but they wouldn't tell. Freddy and Chica respected this decision. Roxy, however, did not and would constantly ask, though it made no difference. She wouldn't stop trying to be around 'him' anyway, even if he wouldn't say. It didn't matter what he was doing. She was there. The band had also celebrated their one-year anniversary together back in December. Each of them had spent some time just talking alone with 'him', and it changed them and the way they thought. All except Roxy that is. They hadn't truly been alone since he beat her on the racetrack and went to console her after finding her in the woods. Though that has caused a change. Freddy didn't say anything about it. He was too nice to question it, and it's not like the changes were bad. Both Chica and Monty had brought up the fact that they thought Roxy liked him. He would deny it every time though until one day they just stopped. It was really weird to 'him'. Roxy, with her sensitive hearing, had picked up the fact that they kept saying it. She told them in no uncertain terms to keep quiet.

Getting into the new year, Roxanne had grown more confident, maybe a little too much. They were all together playing golf and laughing at 'him' being absolutely terrible. He didn't mind. It was all fun and games. Roxy was getting nervous, anticipating asking the question. She wanted to do it when they were alone. The likelihood of that at the moment was not happening.

'Him': "Hey, look at that. I did it again. Hole in one... on the wrong course."

Chica: "I don't understand how you do it. Do you need to take a break?"

'Him': "Nah, all's good. Nearly finished anyway."

Monty: "You might genuinely have the world record for the most hole in one's on a different course than you started on."

'Him': "At this point, yes."

Freddy: "I wasn't counting. How many do you have now?"

'Him': "Today alone, I have sixteen, and this I an eighteen-hole course."

Freddy: "Wow."

Chica: "Maybe we should be aiming for the hole in the next course."

'Him': "Nah, then I would end up two courses away."

Monty: "Have you tried it?"

'Him': "Yes, and that's exactly what happened."

Freddy: "I'm tired. I think I shall go straight to bed after this."

Chica: "Me too."

Roxy: "What?"

'Him': "You're staring."

Roxy: "No I'm not. I don't stare."

'Him': "So why are you doing it now."

Roxy: "I'm not staring."

'Him': "Okay okay, if you say so."

Roxy: "... Could I ask you something?"

'Him': "You do all the time and I will never stop you from asking me things."

Roxy: "How do you feel about me?"

'Him': "That question brings back memories. Do you want the short answer or the long one?"

Roxy: "Is it good or bad?"

'Him': "Neither really."

Roxy: "Long one."

'Him': "Okay. The last times I had to do this, I had to type it, which gave me time, so give me a minute to think about what I say and how I say it."

Roxy: "Okay?"
