Chapter 6

Y/N stood there with his heart on his sleeve as he waited for her to talk. She had a million thoughts running through her head. All she had wanted was a fresh start. Away from all of the grief and everything that's holding her back from moving forward.

"I am in love with you Leigh. That was why I moved across the country. I knew you would never feel the same but I can't keep it in anymore." He told her as he stepped forward. "I have loved you since sophmore year. Everytime I was with you. Just hanging out together I was at my happiest and coming back here made me realise that there is just no getting over you. So please come with me and start a new."

"I can't." She whispered as she shook her head. She wanted to tell him everything that she had felt for him. She wanted to run into his arms but she was frightened. He left her once before. If he loved her then, he wouldn't have left and stayed to live at the other side of the country. "I have my life here."

"Oh." He nodded as he stepped back. "Ok. Well I will see you next time I am in town." He told her as she sighed. She watched as he walked down the path and to his parents house.

Y/N sat on his bed with his head in his hands before he grabbed his duffel and started to pack his clothes. He couldn't stay in LA anymore so he decided to just book the next flight.

Leigh was shut up in her room as the tears ran down her face. Today was supposed to be a good day. A day that she had finally told Y/N about her feelings. She was soon disturbed by a knock on the door followed by Jules.

"Hey, you and Y/N left early." She stated as she sat at the edge of the bed. She noticed her sisters upset state when she never got an answer. "What happened?" She asked her.

"I uh Y/N asked me to go to New York with him." She told Jules who smiled at her. "And I said no. I wanted to tell him how I feel and I just didn't. I couldn't tell him."

"Leigh. You can be so fucking stupid sometimes." Jules exclaimed. "This could be the start of a new life for you. One you have always wanted. He loves you so fucking much that he moved across country just to bury his feelings that you never reciprocated."

"What do I do?" She asked her sister.

"Go after him. Go after what you really want. If that's going to New York to be with him then do it." Jules told her. "Life is too short to live it on the sidelines. You have to go after what you want or you will miss it and live with that regret." She finished before she left Leigh to think.

Leigh knew she was right. She had to go after him and tell him how she truly feels. She needs him to be with her whether that is here or New York.

Leigh decided to dart out of her room not caring about her make up and got in her car and drove to LAX. She had to catch him.

"Flight 2756 to New York JFK had closed for boarding." Leigh heard she couldn't stop the tears from falling as she realised that she had missed her window.

"Fuck." She exclaimed as she took shaky breaths. She could feel a panic attack coming on. As her head was somewhere else and her tears blurred her vision, she never saw a figure approaching her.

"Leigh?" She heard his voice. She wanted to believe that it was real. That he was still here. She felt his warm grip on her wrists, pulling her to the seats as they both sat down.

"I thought you left." She cried as he wiped her tears.

"I couldn't." He told her honestly. "I didn't want to leave you again." She couldn't stop herself and she kissed him as she held his wrists. It was like fireworks were going off. The pair broke apart and Y/N rested his forehead on hers.

"I love you Y/N. I'm in love with you and I'm sorry I didn't say it earlier.  But I do. I am so in love with you." She whispered as he just smiled at her before kissing her once more. "What about your meeting?" She asked remembering why they were at the airport.

"I've moved it to after New Years, it gives you time to decide if you want to come to New York with me." He told her with a smile.

"I want a new start Y/N. I need a fresh start." She told him. "There is too much pain here. Too much grief."

"Then we will both go. It will give you a chance to sort out your job with Drew and your family." He told her as she just nodded with a smile. This is what she wanted and she was happy she was getting everything with Y/N. The boy who has always loved her no matter what.
