Chapter 8

The two had spent the day before New Years Eve packing. Leigh didn't have much to pack since she wanted this to be a fresh start with Y/N. She was ready to leave for New York the next day.

She had even left her ring on her bedside table. She didn't need it anymore. She was happy. Happier than she had ever been with Matt.

"LEIGH!!" She heard Danny's voice. He sounded drunk as he banged on the door of her mother's home. "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" He continued to knock.

Y/N stepped out of his parents house to see an unknown man knocking on his love's door.

"Can I help you?" He asked Danny who turned to look at him with disdain.

"Nope. Just go back home." He ordered Y/N who just shook his head no.

"Not when it's my girl you're calling while drunk." He told him as he stepped up the path behind him. Y/N didn't know who this person was. Leigh had only told him snippets of her life while he was in New York. He knew the names of people but didn't know the faces.

"Your girl?" He spoke as he turned to fave Y/N, stumbling slightly.

"Danny, just go home." Leigh spoke as she opened the door. He looked at her finger and noticed the vacant spot on her ring finger.

"You took it off." He noted. "You never take it off." He pointed out.

"Well, I have moved on Danny." She told him as he stumbled towards her.

"With him?" He said as he pointed towards Y/N. Leigh just nodded as Danny shook his head. "You chose someone you barely know over me?"

"I know him more than I ever knew Matt." She told him as he laughed. "And he knows me more than anyone."

"What does he have that I don't?" He asked her as she looked at the ground.

"My heart and soul." She told him. Danny sighed as he looked between Leigh and Y/N. "I'm also leaving LA." She told him as he shot his eyes back to hers.

"Why?" He asked her.

"Because I need a new start. I need to move on and not live in the past." She told him. He just nodded and stumbled away.

"Hey, let me give you a ride home." Y/N spoke softly as he helped Danny stay on his feet.

"You're a good guy." Danny slurred. "Please make sure you give her everything."

"I will give her the universe if it was mine to give." He told the drunk man as he helped him to his car. Leigh couldn't help but smile as Y/N helped Danny get home. Only lord knows that Y/N has been in Danny's position but he had Lizzie to help him.

After Y/N had dropped him off and helped him to his sofa, he returned back to Leigh.

"Thank you." Leigh spoke softly as she opened the door for him.

"You don't need to thank me." He smiled at her. She pulled him inside and gave him a searing kiss.

"Oh for the love of god. Get a room." Amy spoke up from the sofa.

"Let's head upstairs." Leigh spoke with a smirk.

"Not under my roof!" Amy told them.

"We're just going to be packing." She told her mum who just raised a brow. Y/N chuckled at the scene playing out before him.

"Of course. Packing." She smirked. "I know a euthanism when I hear one." She told her. Leigh just groaned before she dragged him upstairs.

"Do you think we can leave earlier?" She asked him as she packed the last bit of clothing.

"If you want to." He smiled at her as she nodded.

"Maybe we can make a road trip?" She suggested as he smiled.

"I'd love that." He smiled as he kissed her tenderly.

"Then it's settled." She stated as she kept him close to her. "We leave tomorrow."

"We might not make it by New Years Eve." He told her as she shook her head.

"As long as I am with you, I will have an amazing time anywhere." She beamed at him.

And then it was settled. They were leaving tomorrow so tonight was saying goodbyes and finishing packing the car. This was going to be the road trip that changes both of their lives completely.
