The night was silent and the breeze was calm, two felines sat on opposite sides of a tree, not speaking a word, they didn't have to. The silence was loud.

A faint cry in the distance was heard and the orange tabby cracked a rude smile yet kept his composure.

"Aaaoo...whoohoo...EEEee...hee- hee... OW! I thought you said acupuncture would make me feel-"

Po lay on his stomach as a green figure ran along his body.

Mantis popped up from behind Po holding a handful of needes and stuck one into po's fur again.

"-better!"

"Trust me, it will. It's just not easy finding the right nerve points under all this..." Mantis paused, his brain trying to come up with another word.

"Fat?" Po deadpanned

"Fur, I was going to say fur." Mantis denied and removed the needle and moved to another part of Po's back.

"Sure you were." Po sighed

"Who am I to judge a warrior based on his size? I mean... look at me." Mantis sighed and patted Po's back

Po turned to look for Mantis..

"I'm over here." Mantis deadpanned, sticking another needle into an unsuspecting Po's shoulder

"Ah-HAH!"

"Maybe you should take a look at this again." Viper hissed gently and held up a diagram of a meridian that had a panda drawn over it.

Mantis took a quick peek before shoving another needle in Po.
"Oh! Okay."

"Ow! Don't..." the panda burst out laughing

Monkey in his room next to mantises grimaces and sticks his fingers in his ears as a desperate attempt to get rid of the noise and go back to mediating.

Crane in another room does calligraphy.

"Stop it, stop... YOW!"

Cranes leg takes a sharp turn off the paper, surprised by the sudden sound.

"I know Master Shifu's trying to inspire me and all, but if I didn't know any better... I'd say he was trying to get rid of me.
I also wanted to apologise for y/n...."

Po stared off into the distance, his eyes hazy with a long lost memory. Mantis didn't notice and grimaced at the fact that Po was actually right.

"Why? There is no need to apologise, we understand that we have been quite rude to her" mantis sighed once again.

His chances ruined because of their jealousy that a panda who hadn't trained ever in his life became the dragon warrior.

"would you believe if I told you that when we first met she hated my guts?"

"met? I thought you two grew up together?" Viper hissed out, entering the conversation once again.

"We did...she was just adopted when we were both 10... dad found her wandering the streets soaked in blood" po shuddered, recalling the murderous look on a 10 year old y/n's face.

"that's awful!"

"Betrayal by those who were close to her...she was ratted out by those who she thought were family"

Po paused, contemplating whether he should go on and tell them the sob story.

Monkeys eye lid lifted up and he scooted closer to  the wall in order to hear why his chances with the female were far from what he wanted them to be.

Crane and tigress also stopped and tuned in to listen, it wasn't every day that they had a chance to learn about the mysterious feline.

"Food was scarce in her village.." Po begun again.
"The only choice she had was to fight for it or to die, she had a partner in crime...puss in boots"

"And when they were discovered one day, he threw her into the light while running away... she forgave him, eventually. But no one just gets over that sort of betrayal.."

The silence in the room was deafening and Po broke out of his trance and gave an awkward laugh, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

"She got over it, she just doesn't trust anyone who even slightly resembles puss much."

Crane turned and looked at his drawing of y/n in sadness and monkey stayed silent, tigress had her hand pressed up to her lips in shock.

Po gave a smile and the others awkwardly smiled back at the panda.

Po noticed their expressions and his chuckle faded away.

"We also want to apologise... we..didn't know...and master shifu, I know he can seem kind of heartless.." mantis began, wanting to apologise to the panda and for seeming insensitive

He violently jabbed another needle in Po.

"Ah!"

"But, you know, he wasn't always like that." Mantis solemnly continued.
