Piper Lancaster"SHE BELONGS TO ME!"
"No! Let us go, Thane! She's not ready! SHE'S NOT YOURS!"
I hear my mom's voice in my nightmare. She sounds scared, is she alright? I hear more shouting and what sounds like thunder, but I'm slowly loosing it's grasp. No, I have to know what my mom was scared of. And most importantly, why my dad was there.
My eyes flash open. My breathing is erratic, clearly still calming down from the nightmare. The ceiling is bland, except for the flower wallpaper that looks ancient. The room even smells ancient. The smell of mothballs and caramel fill my nose. I slowly sit up in my bed and when I look to my left, there is a little kid just staring at me. His legs didn't quite reach the floor, so he was swinging them back and forth underneath the chair. His eyes lit up as he saw me move and jumped from the chair.
"You're awake! Are you alright? Miss Dawson said that you could be asleep for a couple of more days, but you're awake! Are you sure you're okay? Here is some water." The kid said as he gave me a glass of water. I just stare at the boy and the water. His eyes were pleading, and I felt kind of bad, so I downed the water. I finished it in a record time. I guess I was dehydrated.
"Where am I?" I ask, my voice raspy. I pull some blankets off me, my body already getting hot again.
"Oh... I can't tell you that. My dad said that he is the one to tell you everything going one. Apparently, I am too young to understand. Sorry, I'll go grab him." He said, quickly running out the door. My head was pounding. Then it stopped. I remember Owen was here. He was angry. Really angry. I can still feel a little bit of impatience in my chest. Does that mean I am in Mona territory? I chuckle to myself. I am already used to using werewolf lingo. If only my 14-year-old self could see me now.
What are they going to do to me? I am of alpha descent of an enemy pack. Does my mom know that I am missing? How long have I been out? Before I could get up and see if I could escape, the door swings open.
A man, not much older than me, stands in the doorway. His hair was raven black, a little bit of blue shining from the light. His sharp grey eyes look up and down at me, subtly. He clears his throat.
"Sorry for the sudden impromptu visit. My brother said you were awake, didn't want you running out of the house." He said, his voice soft and sharp. The little boy peeked out from his so-called brother's huge stature.
"It's not safe for you to leave. A lot of people don't like you. They say you smell... different." He said, he sounded scared for me. I didn't even realize that I was breathing really quickly. The older brother seemed to notice.
"How do I know that you don't want to hurt me?" I whisper. I know they can hear me though. The older brother just rubbed the back of his neck. The boy walked up to me though, shaking his head.
