(SAVANNA's POV)

Two weeks have passed since that night when George and I almost kissed. Keyword: ALMOST. None of us really spoke about it or made hints of remembering it, I took my cue from George right there and Fred, George and I pranked a few people, attended classes and spent our free time together.

"Stop it, George! Not my hair." I called out while George was busy stroking my hair.

"It's shiny and beautiful and black." he said as Fred laughed out loud.

"Of course, it is! It's my hair!" I said as he continued to touch it.

"GEORGE! Not my hair! And for Godric's sake, I'm NOT a dog!" I called out, this time a little louder, causing Ron, Hermione, Harry, Ginny and everyone else in the common room to look at us. Fred and George laughed out boisterously.

"Alright, everyone who wishes to stay in Hogwarts for Christmas should sign up now." Professor McGonagall announced.

"Are you staying?" Fred asked me.

"I sure am certainly NOT going to accept this invitation!" I said, brandishing a piece of parchment that I have received from owl post earlier. George snatched it. "I'll be right back." I added.

Without waiting for any reply from the twins, I headed towards Professor McGonagall and tried to sign the parchment.

"Ah, Miss Black, I need to see you in my office." she said as she took the parchment out of my reach. "Follow me." she added.

"I'll be back." I told the twins.

"Not with them. I'd rather spend Christmas here, then." Fred said and George nodded.

I smiled at them and went to follow Professor McGonagall out of the common room and made our way to her office, passing by Draco Malfoy.

"See you at home, Savanna." he sneered and I looked at him.

"Don't make me hex you to oblivion, Draco." I said.

"Empty threat." he said, smirking and I took out my wand.

"Savanna Lily Black, in  my office. NOW." Professor McGonagall said as she opened the door to her office and stopped to face Draco. "Mr. Malfoy, I suggest you get out of the way and go hide before Miss Black transfigures your ears to Godric-Knows-What." she added.

The door closed and Professor McGonagall gestured for me to sit down, I did. She sat on her seat and looked at me.

"I take it you receive an invitation from the Malfoy family this Christmas?" she asked.

"Yes, professor. But I'm not taking it. I'd rather be celebrating the holidays with the giant squid." I said.

"As suggested by a very concerned person, Miss Black, there's another option for you." she said, taking out a piece of parchment that was sealed. "I take it you will love that option." she added.

Wotcher Savanna,

My name is Nymphadora Tonks, we haven't been introduced because our family is complicated. Your father is my second cousin, making us third cousin or relatives. I wasn't sure how to contact you ever since I heard about your loss, luckily, someone has taken a little risk of writing to me and suggested I talk to you. My parents, Andromeda and Ted, and I would love invite you over for Christmas. Of course, I know that you'd want to celebrate it at Hogwarts, but I am hoping against hope, that you will accept our invitation. Please send word by owl as soon as possible.

All the best,

Tonks

I folded the letter and looked at Professor McGonagall, who was looking at me as well. She nodded as if to say, "Well?" and I took a deep breath.
