Y/n POV
The next morning, Newt, Minho, Chuck, and I went over to the pit where we put my brother and Teresa in after last night's events. Upon arrival, Tommy went on explaining of how the others were put in this maze at a young age. One-by-one, they disappeared each month like clockwork to be put in here."But not all of us," he continues to explain.
"What do you mean?" Newt asks.
There was a long pause before he spoke.
"Guys, I'm one of them," he finally says. "The people who put you here, I worked with them. I watched you guys for years. The entire time you've been here, I was on the other side of it. So were you, Teresa."
"What?" Teresa quietly says, baffled by what she is hearing.
"We did this to them."
"No," she refuses to believe as she shakes her head. "That can't be true."
"It is. I saw it," Tommy asserts. I also saw a detail about you, y/n. Something valuable that they really didn't want me to know when they sent me here."
"What could possibly be so valuable and important about me that was enough to be erased from your memories?" I question.
"It's about why you're here and how your father is the reason you are here."
"Don't you mean our-"
"No, I mean yours."Your father? What does he mean by your father?
"Apparently, I knew you were in here long before I came into the glade when I saw you on the screen the first couple of days I worked with the ones responsible for all of this. You were labeled as Subject 001, and I questioned one of the people in charge why you were in the maze and not with me. They explained to me that our mother had an affair with someone, your father, who worked with them and ended up getting our mother pregnant with you. Your father wanted to use you to test out the maze they created, but our mother wanted nothing to do with that and played off that my father was the reason for the pregnancy. She spent six years hiding you and keeping you away from your actual father, but he ended up finding you anyways and took you away. You're here because your father put you here intentionally."
"Did you get the name of the person responsible for y/n being here?" Newt asks.
"No," Tommy states. "I tried, but they never told me."
Wow. My whole life has been a lie. A goddamn, fucking lie, right from the start. After all this time, after all this fucking time, I was living a lie.
I couldn't stand listening anymore. I just couldn't. So, I left. I walked away and headed towards the treehouse to process everything that just occurred, all the while with tears streaming down my cheeks.
By the time I climbed down the ladder of the treehouse after thinking over everything and crying, I could hear a lot of commotion between the gladers. I quickly made my way over and saw my brother was knocked out on the ground, one of the gladers had a hold on Teresa, and Gally was in the center of it all.
"What the hell is going on?!" I exclaim.
"Oh, look who finally decided to show up," Gally announces. "Grab her."
"What?" I say as two gladers grab a hold of my arms, restraining me from doing anything. "Hey, let me go."
I tried everything I could to untangle myself away from their forceful grip, but every attempt was useless.
"Gally," one of the gladers spoke up with, sounding very doubtful and cautious. "This doesn't feel right, man."
Gally turns to towards the glader to give him his undivided attention.
"And what if Thomas is right," the glader continues. "Maybe he can lead us home."
"He will lead us home," I chime in. "My brother will lead us all ho-"
"Your slinthead of a brother will lead us no where!" Gally yells. "And this right here. The glade. The glade is our home. And your brother had the nerve to destroy it."
"He was trying to-"
"Oh my god," Gally continues to interrupt. "Just listen to yourself. For once, can you just shut your goddamn mouth."
Slowly, he starts to advance towards me.
"And you know what?" he proceeds to get up in my face. "I should've fucked you when I had the chance. It serves you right for being such an annoying bitch."
That right there. That was my last straw. Right as he said those words, I spat in his face. Serves him right for being such an annoying dick. But, that only worsened the problem because, as soon as I did that, Gally forcefully grabbed me from the other gladers and dragged me over where Teresa was.
"You really think banishing us is going to solve anything?" Teresa comments with.
While still having a tight hold on me, he responds. "No. This isn't a banishing. It's an offering."
"What?" Teresa and I say in unison.
Then, as one of the gladers started to tie up Teresa to a wooden pole, Gally continued to drag me along to do the same.
"Get your clammy hands off of me," I demand as I tried as hard as I could to escape his grip.
"Hey, HEY," Newt snaps. "Y/n has nothing to do with this, Gally!"
"That's where you're wrong, Newt," Gally went on to explain. "She's Thomas' sister. They share the same blood. So, they should share the same death wish."
"You're a lot more psycho than I thought," I remark as a squirm around in his grip.
"Shut up!" he turns towards the gladers beside Tommy's unconscious body as he still struggles with me. "Tie him up!"
"You know the grievers won't stop coming even with the offering."
"I said shut up!" Gally glances over to see Tommy still on the ground, causing him to get annoyed with the gladers just aimlessly standing over his body. "Did you hear me?! I said tie him up!"
This time, they actually attempted to do as they were told. Attempted because, moments later, Tommy woke up and fought the gladers off of him. Not only that, but Newt, Minho, and Teresa also joined in on the fighting.
Seeing them fight gave me the courage and strength to head butt Gally in the face, causing him to tumble backwards and release me in the process. Once I was released, I made my way over to where Newt and the others were.
"You're full of surprises, aren't ya?" Gally said.
"You don't have to come with us, but we are leaving," Tommy reasoned with him. "Anyone else who wants to come, now's your last chance."
"Don't listen to him, he's just trying to scare you. Alright?"
"No, I'm not trying to scare you, you're already scared. Alright, I'm scared. But, I'd rather risk my life out there than spending the rest of it in here..."
While my brother continued to persuade more gladers to join us, I felt a hand brush up against and slowly intertwine with mine. I looked over and locked eyes with Newt, who looked worried and concerned.
"Are you okay?" I ask in a low voice.
"I think I should be asking that question," he replies with.
In response, I gave his hand a small squeeze as a way to let him know that "I'm okay" and "I will be okay."
Tuning back in, we notice that some gladers over beside Gally decided to come join us. However, a few still stayed behind.
"Gally, it's over," Tommy breaks the news to him. "Just come with us."
There was a long pause. It was almost like Gally was actually thinking about joining us. But, of course, that wasn't the case. Instead, he gave us these departing words: "Good luck, against the grievers."
That was it.
Now, it was time to face the maze.
