Our freedom quickly ended after Tommy started suspecting that something more was going on. This place felt suspicious to him and, not gonna lie, I feel the same way. So, as we sit around the table where they provide us food, Tommy kept glancing at the double doors that leads to god knows what. I can tell he is conjuring up a plan to figure out how we are able to get through those doors.

"I wanna know what's through that door," he says, demanding to have answers.

"No, we went over this," Newt explains. "You said they were covered up, so you don't know what you saw. It could've been anything under there."

"I know exactly what I saw. They were bodies," Tommy argues back with. "Aris said they bring in a new batch every night."

Aris?

"Who the hell is Aris?" Minho and I simultaneously question my brother.

"Jinx," we both say at the same time again as we point at each other.

This led me to flip him off.

It was for no particular reason, I just love doing it to him.

"Fuck you, too," he calmly replies with. "Now, who is Aris?"

Tommy points in the direction of who he was talking about. He was a boy with his hood up and looks to be examining his food.

"Well... I'm sold," Minho sarcastically says.

Finally, Janson finishes off reading the list of people he has written down, and all of those listed down collectively walk towards the doors that Tommy grew fond of.

"Thank you for your attention!" Janson exclaims. "Enjoy the rest of your evening!"

With that, they unlocked the doors to let the people through, and that left us to figure out our next plan of action.

"Okay, so we don't know a thing for certain," Newt goes on to say. "We should just keep our heads down, and try not to draw any attention to ourselves."

Not even a second later, Tommy slammed his hands on the table and aggressively walks up to the doors.

"Well there goes the part about NOT drawing attention to ourselves," I remark.

"It's like I don't exist to him!" Newt proclaims.

"Well, I mean, you did basically announce to him that you were dating his little sister and, also, kissed each other in front of him whenever Janson brought her to the bunker," Minho takes note of.

"And you did ask her to sleep in the same bed as you while he was still awake and in the same room," I added on with.

This earns us a death glare from Newt.

"Not. Helping," he emphasizes.

Looking back over in the direction of Tommy, we notice that things between him and the guards started to get a little heated. So, we all stood up and rushed over to his side to pull him back before anyone gets hurt.

"Why won't you let me see her?!" he yells.

Her?

Does he mean Teresa because that will explain why she hasn't been with us this entire time.

The ruckus drew attention to Janson as he appears in front of the guards.

"What's happening here?!" he demands as he glances at us, then at his men, and then at Tommy. "Thomas. I thought we could trust each other. You know we're all on the same team here."

"Oh," Tommy, harshly, says.

Janson pats his shoulder, then looks between him and us.

"Get them to their bunks," he advises.

And, just like that, we got led back to our bunker and were forcefully thrown in.

"What the hell was that about?" Minho harshly asks the moment the door shuts.

"You didn't really think they were just going to let you through?" Newt chimes in with.

"No, of course I didn't," Tommy responds with as he pulls a keycard out of his pockets. "I'm going to find out what's on the other side of that door."

He managed to steal a keycard from a security guard. What a sneaky bastard.

"Guys, they're hiding something," he tries to convince the others. "Okay, these people are not who they say they are."

"No, Thomas, you don't know that!" Newt fires back at him. "The only thing that we do know is that they helped rescue us from WCKD. They gave us new clothes, they gave us food, they gave us a proper bed. Some of us haven't had that in a long time."

"Yeah, but, Newt..." Tommy tries to reason.

"Some of us a lot longer than others." Newt interrupts.

Then, their eyes turned towards me.

"What?" I ask.

Minho scoffs. "Are you dumb?" he sassily comments.

I smirk in response. "I know you are, but what am I?"

"I-"

"And for your information," I continue, interrupting Minho, "I did hear what Newt said. I just don't understand why we have to bring it to everyone's attention, especially when, you have to admit, this place is kind of suspicious. I mean, that Janson guy is giving me a lot of unsettling vibes."

"So you're on board with this?" Newt questions.

"Yes. Yes, I am," I admit. "Mainly because I want to look more into this Janson guy before I go around believing we are in good hands with these people."

"You see guys," Tommy announces. "I'm telling you something bigger is going on here. Something big enough that even my sister isn't buying into it."

Newt looked like he wanted to add more onto the conversation, but he was interrupted by someone crawling out of the vents. And that someone was Aris.

"Hey, Thomas," he said. "You got it?"

"Yeah, let's go," he replies as he starts to climb into the vent with him. "Alright, look, maybe y/n and I are being paranoid about this, but I gotta find out for sure. Just cover for me. I'll be back as soon as I can."

With that, they both disappear into the vent.

...

"Okay, I know damn well he did not just call me 'paranoid.'"
