I dodge the nasty, sweaty kids in the hallway, walking to Mr. Winchesters room.
After school I almost completely forgot about tutoring, but Bev reminded me.
There are probably other people with way better grades. Why did he want me to tutor this kid?
I knock on the large wooden door in front of me, looking at the small name tag on the 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳.
𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳
"Y/n! I was getting worried you weren't coming. " the man says, pulling me inside the big classroom.
He points at the brunette with large glasses. "This is Richie. "
"Yeah, I know. "
"He needs serious help. That's why I asked you. Hes basically failing every class. " he says, glaring at the small boy in front of him.
The man claps his hands together, turning towards me. "I know you can help. I'll leave you to it. I have a date. " I cringe as he winks when he says the last sentence.
Once Mr. Winchester walks out I sit in the seat next to Richie. "So, what do you need most help with?"
"Hm, nothing. I have all a's. I'm in here what do you think?"
My eye widen at his sarcasm. I had to teach this kid?
I roll my eyes, pulling out a piece of paper and a pencil.
I write down a few simple math problems, handing it to him. "We're starting with math. "
"Can we not just leave? "
Of course he didn't want to be here. "No. I promised him I would help you not just leave. "
Did I actually promise him that? No, but Richie didn't need to know that.
He focuses back on the paper, ignoring my existence.
I pull out my phone, texting Bev: 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰
My phone dings signaling that Bev texted me back: 𝘰𝘬 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘥
I let out a sigh of relief, putting my phone back into my backpack, pulling out my homework. Might as well get started on it right now.
"I'm done. " Richie says making me put down my pencil, grabbing the paper from him, checking for mistakes.
After checking all the problems I put the paper back on his desk. "You only got one wrong. "
I point to the fifth problem, showing him how to do it properly as he complains about not wanting to be here and how hard math was.
"Stop being a baby. It's not even that hard. "
He glares at me through his glasses.
I pull out another piece of paper, writing a few more problems. "Use what I showed you. "
He goes back to doing the problems as I focus back on my homework.
School was never exactly hard for me. I've always been a good student. I just never felt the need to get in trouble unlike some people.
The only times I got in trouble in school was with patrick.
I suddenly went down the rabbit hole of thinking about patrick. Everyone thought he was scary and dangerous, but he really wasn't or at least he wasn't to me you just had to get to know him or maybe I'm being nieve.
Richie pulls me out of my thoughts as he starts talking. "Why does the Bowers gang hate you so much? I saw Henry throw you up against a locker yesterday. "
I shrug, looking up at him. "It's complicated. "
He rolls his eyes, obviously not taking that as a answer.
"Me and patrick... used to date."
His eye brows shoot up and his eyes widen. "You? Y/n used to date patrick hockstetter? No way. "
"We kept it a secret most of the time, so no one but his friends knew. "
"Was his dick small?" Richie says, making me punch him in the shoulder as he laughs.
"I'm just saying! Was it?"
"Dude!"
