The Christmas Mermaid

Scene Nineteen

(Esmerelda and Seera get to the last class as the first bell rings. Everyone was still trying to find which seats they wanted more. Drake and Esmeralda sat in the last row. They was happy this time that they actually got to pick out there own seats. He never liked too sit up front. Drake always felt like he was picked on by the teachers, he just wanted to be invisible at his old school, and the way this day was going he felt like this was going to be the same way.)

(Magic teacher) "You there, you look new. What's your name."

(He thought here we go.)

(Drake) "My name is Drake. I just got here 3 days ago."

(Magic teacher) "So than you're just a human? Look at him so scrawny and he doesn't understand anything about water, and this is the type of person you girls all spawn over all the time. Humans like him pollute are water and make us and our friends sick. Esmeralda and Seera you should know this. So why is it everyone wants a human?"

(Esmeralda writes something down on a blank piece of paper)

(Esmeralda) 'That is Mr. Blanco, he was once human but the Mermaid that chose him decided she liked another human more. She chose 3 humans and now he's so bitter with humans. He wishes he never came down here, but if he goes back after being gone for 100's of years his flesh will die. He's mean to almost everyone don't take it personal.' Drake didn't know what to say. He wanted to say the obvious, but he didn't want to put a bigger target on his back, so he kept his mouth shut.)

(Magic teacher) "Why do you think everyone likes you?"

(Drake) "Because I'm handsome."

(Everyone in class starts laughing. The magic teacher gets real close to Drake and says.)

(Magic teacher) "I can turn you into an ugly little toad. Boy, don't get sarcastic with me."

(Drake) "You asked me a question, I answered it. If it's not because I'm handsome, it's because I'm something new to everyone. The Mermaids will get bored of me, plus isn't that what all the Mermaids are supposed to do. That was the number one rule of being a Mermaid. That's why every Christmas they get another human male. It was what every little mermaid girl was programmed to want."

(Drake looks at Seera. Seera's got a sad look on her face.)

(Drake) "It's not there fault they think like that."

(Just than Seera gets up and starts running out the door.)
