Also, as you are able to see, because of the different storyline, based in Mumbai, different profession, there are certain differences in their characters too. They can't be the same MiNeil from the show. Just thought to clear it.

She widened her eyes, her heart was now racing. He bent on his knees, all the while reading her thoughts...
Neil: Aise kyun dekh rahi ho mujhe? I'm not going to propose you yet, calm down.
She relaxed, but as the word 'yet' sank in, she smiled meekly.
Mini: What do you mean by......
Neil: Shhh... First tell me, did you like them?
He pointed at the pair of toe rings which he had bought for her.. She was way too surprised to say anything.
Neil: You can continuously speak for hours but you can't even praise my shopping for once!!
Mini: 😒
Neil: 😒
Mini: You already know that I loved them.
Neil (smiled): May I?
She nodded and removed her heels. He placed her feet on his knee, and made her wear them, one by one.
Neil: Happy Diwali, Mrs. Mini Neil Oberoi.
She smiled at him and looked at her feet.
Mini: Do you know what they actually are? Importance jaante ho iski?
He just smiled at her, his eyes filled with pure innocence and love for her.
Neil: Jaanta hoon...
He felt like someone is watching over them. He looked around to check but couldn't find anything.
Mini: Kya hua?
Neil (he shrugged): Acha, where is my gift?
Mini: What?
Neil: What kya? Don't tell me ki tum mujhe Soan Papdi ka dabba pass karne wali ho.
Mini: Shut up!! Kuch bhi?
Neil: Whatever, my gift?
He was just teasing her, she too knew that, but she bent down a little and brought her face closer to his. She placed her palm on his cheek and kissed his forehead.
Mini (whispered): Happy Diwali, Mr. Oberoi.
She straightened up and started walking again, while he just kept sitting there, surprised. After going a few steps ahead, she noticed he had still not started. She turned back and saw him smiling on his own. He came out of his thoughts as he again felt someone's presence around them. He looked at her and saw that she had moved ahead. They passed a smile to each other as he approached her.
Neil: Mini, let's reach home fast... I feel that.. someone is looking over us.
She nodded. Their house was visible from that point where they were standing in that moment. They quickly walked and as soon as they reached, Mini noticed a guy trying to look through the windows of their house, while Neil again felt someone's presence behind. He turned to check but he hid himself quickly, leaving a blurred image in Neil's memory.
Neil: Mini, someone...
Mini (whispered): Shhh.. come with me..
She dragged him with her.
