Neil unlocked the door, and gestured her to sit when a speeding car approached them..
Neil: DAMN!! Mini!! Careful!!!

He held her hand and pulled her back with a jerk, saving her. Mini was too shocked to react, while the car stopped for a few seconds and then went away with a high speed, which didn't go unnoticed by Neil. He looked back at Mini who was breathing heavily. He could see that her mind was occupied with thousands of thoughts, confusion, anxiousness and an old fear, making her almost numb to react to anything. He realised that he was still holding her close, very close, that his breaths were falling on her face. He loosened his hold and took a step back, breaking her chain of thoughts.
Neil: You're fine naa? You aren't hurt, right?
He anxiously looked for any kind of possible injury.
Mini: Y.. yeah... I'm f.. fine ...
She couldn't say anything more, and he too, thought to give her space. He made her sit inside the car and they left for their home. All through the journey, they were silent. None of them spoke a single word, but they were clouded by thousands of thoughts. While Mini was still processing what happened, and what could have happened to her, Neil knew only half of the things that happened and he wanted to know the whole of it... Why was she scared? She's a brave girl, then what would have happened that made her so vulnerable like that? And then the accident that could have happened...
Amidst the innumerous questions, they reached their place. Mini directly went inside her room. Neil knew at the moment she wasn't in the position to share anything. He too, went to his room to change, but came out to check on her one last time before sleeping. His heart didn't allow him to leave her alone just like that. He knocked on the door of her room, but she didn't respond. He again knocked, but got no response from her. He then noticed that the door wasn't locked. He took a deep breath and entered her room.
Neil: I'msorrytoenterjustlikethatbutIwas...
He looked around but she was nowhere to be found. He panicked, coz he knew she was upset, so upset that she didn't even know what she was doing. And in that state, wherever she was, it wasn't safe. He ran all around the house looking for her.
Neil: GOD!! Mini where are you? It's my fault, I should have been careful...
He went upstairs and finally found her standing in the balcony. He sighed in relief. He went to the kitchen and came back with two cups of coffee. He stood next to her.
Neil: Coffee... Ms. Investigator..
Mini smiled at him and took a sip...
Mini: Thanks.
Neil: You're most welcome. Sone ka iraada nahi hai aaj?
Mini: I'm not feeling sleepy yet...
Neil: Hey wait a second... You're not insomniac right?
Mini: No idiot!
Neil: Thank God!! I can't bear people roaming around the house at night like ghosts...
Mini: WHAT? Seriously Neil 😒 Oh, is it because, you're scared of ghosts or what? 😏
Neil: Excuse me, I'm not scared of anyone...
Mini: Hmm, I can clearly see that... Anyways, nobody with insomnia roams around the house at nights like a ghost... They have other things to do, samjhe?
Neil: Oh you don't know.. Pata hai, Nisha always used to.......
He stopped, and she sensed that he went into the memories which were quite sensitive...
