"Mom I'm going to sleep now" Will called to his Mother but there was no answer. Will furrowed his eyebrows and walked to the living room but no one was to be found. In the corner of his eye he saw a piece of paper on the kitchen counter so he walked over and read it.

I got called in late again I'm really sorry

This was usual lately. His mother would leave randomly and leave him alone at home without even talking to him about it or saying a proper goodbye.
He huffed and went to his room to go to sleep when suddenly he heard a voice coming from his walkie talkie.
"Will you awake? I'm outside"
Will thought he was hearing things.
"Will?.." there was a pause "please tell me you're there..." Will finally got up to get his walkie. He noticed Mike's voice seemed really sad. "I'm coming my mom's not here" he quickly ran to the door and opened it only to find Mike with puffy eyes. His eyes seemed empty which meant he wasn't feeling good.
"What are you doing here it's 11pm?" Will asked worried. "Can you come outside with me for just a bit..? I just don't want to be alone. Dustin and lucas don't understand and-" Before Mike could even finish his sentence Will put on his shoes and grabbed his keys.
"You don't have to explain yourself  Mike." Will smiled gently at him.
"Let's go to the playground near the school" Mike suggested and Will nodded. Since Will's bike was broken they rode on Mike's together. Will had his arms wrapped around Mike's waist. He enjoyed the fresh air yet still it was cold since it was late and he was only wearing a shirt and not a jacket.
After a while they got to the playground where they sat down on the swings.
There was this comfortable silence between the two of them. After a while Will decided to break the silence.
"Do you want to talk about it Mike?"
He asked his friend.
"I got into a fight with my parents again. They kept telling me how awful i was and that I'm disrespectful. I went out the door and just biked straight to yours... I'm really sorry." Mike put his face into his hands. "Mike there's  no need to apologize. I'm actually glad even that you came. I felt quite lonely but with you here it's nice." Will smiled at Mike. The raven haired boy took a peak at his friend and saw his sweet smile which he returned soon.
"It's nice with you too." Mike admitted.
They spend a while talking about random things. At one point they started talking about people at school.
"Well I don't think i like any girl at the moment." Will said as he looked away.
"I do like someone actually." Mike said and Will's eyes grew wide. "You...do?" He seemed a bit shocked but tried to seem normal. "Yeah. But i couldn't never confess. Like never." Mike looked down now. "You totally should though if she doesn't like you she's really dumb. I mean who wouldn't like you? you're genuinely the coolest person I've ever met." Will asked.
"Believe me when I say I can't." Mike stopped him.
"You really should. Go for it!" Will supported his friend. Mike stopped for a second to think.
"Okey... here goes nothing. Will I've known you since we were kids but whenever I look at you I can't help but hope to be more than your friend. I really like you. That was one of the reasons why I came straight to your house. You make me feel good about myself and you're just so wonderful and I just can't stop liking you even more from day to day." Mike spilled his guts while Will was on pause.
"Please tell me this isn't a joke because if it is I'm actually gonna cry." Will said while looking into the dark sky.
"You already are Will " Mike gently placed his hand onto Will's cheek and wiped the tear that was rolling down his face. Will moved his head toward Mike who was obviously really nervous. "I like you too Mike" Will finally answered. Mike's face immediately lit up and a big smile spread on it. Mike got on his feet and stood infront of Will. He looked down at him and Will looked up at him.
"Do you mind if i kiss you..?" Mike asked. "No.." Will took a peak at Mike lips and so did Mike. He grabbed Will's chin and raised his head up to him.
Then he leaned down to kiss him.
Will finally knew for sure this wasn't a joke yet still he was scared they would be seen. He still let the kiss happen and actually enjoyed it. It was also his first. After the "kiss" their  lips were swollen and their cheeks burning. Mike was getting Will back home. This time Will wasn't cold anymore. Mike lend him his jacket and Will rested his face on Mike's back. He never felt more comfortable in his life. He felt all his worries  disappearing and didn't feel stressed for once. It was a beautiful feeling. When they got back Mike stayed the night and they were all cuddled up together. Will had lend Mike his clothes so it was fine. The next day Mike had to go home after Will talked to him about his parents which made Mike finally feel ready to talk to them again.
They made up. Well at least mike and his mom did. His dad was sleeping again as always. For some reason both mike and Will ACCIDENTALLY forgot to give the other their clothes back but it wasn't dramatic. Thankfully no one saw them back at the playground and they decided kissing in public isn't the best idea. It was going well between them.
