Auditions happened soon. After a proper audition, David was officially part of the council, though he spent the first few meetings observing how everything worked. Wes had forbidden him from working too hard while his nose was still in the early stages of healing.

Kurt had gone home for the weekend, and was staying there a bit. The school was very understanding about it; he just needed a break, and to be with his family. Of course, he was still in contact with his friends— Blaine especially— to let them know he was okay.

Since Hunter's expulsion, Sebastian had mostly kept his head down, and people had left him alone. On one hand, they felt bad for him, for losing his boyfriend; on the other hand, Hunter had been a dick, and nobody had liked him.

Nobody else had caught on to how Hunter had treated him. They didn't know that deep down, he was just as relieved as they were. And he didn't want them to— he preferred to be left alone.

That's part of why he didn't press charges. To him, it just wasn't worth it. Hunter had a legal warning to stay away from him and from Dalton, and a black spot on his previously perfect record as a warning to anyone in his future, and that was enough.

Since Alex had missed the entire ordeal, Thad filled him in so he'd know to delete Hunter's number.

Alex

So yeah, that was wild.

Oh my god

I knew something was up when
he got all pissed that I'd decided
to stop drinking after what had
happened! I had no idea what it
was, but it was so off! It was just
such an unreasonable response!

Yeah. Looking back it's obvious,
but we'd all just known him for so
long, we'd become desensitized
to it

Yeah.

How's Sebastian holding up?

Even quieter than usual, and
clearly doesn't want to talk
about it, but he seems alright.
Luckily most people are
leaving him alone about it;
they haven't figured out that
Hunter was abusive. I think he's
waiting for it to blow over.

Okay, that's good, as far as
Sebastian goes

Yeah I think it's the best way
that he specifically could be
handling it

Yeah

I'm really glad David said
something. He'd figured it out,
so he knew full well of the
danger, yet he still confronted
Hunter. He's a good guy.

He really is.

Speaking of that... has anyone
told you the news?

No. Are he and Wes official or
something?

Well, I think they're the closest
they'll get to it, considering Wes's
family. But that's not what I was
referring to.

I'm glad it worked out. I'm glad
they're happy.

What is it, then?

We've filled your spot on the
council.

Oh

Can David sing?

I never said it was David?

We both know it's him, though

Fair.

He's got a killer voice, actually,
which even Jeff didn't know

Cool. Then I approve. I know
that doesn't really matter, but
still, it's good to know that the
Warblers are in good hands

I think it'd matter to David. He
wasn't expecting it at all; everyone
heard about him confronting Hunter
and that he was friends with the
rest of us and just decided that he
should be on the council, so I think
he feels some pressure to live up
to their expectations.

Well, if it does matter to him, then
tell him that I know he'll do great
and he has nothing to worry about.
Even if he does make a mistake,
as everyone does, the Warblers are
very forgiving and understanding.

I'll pass along the message.

Oh I gtg I have an appointment

Yeah ofc

You alright, though?

Oh yeah dw it's just therapy

Oh cool

Yeah I started going after the whole
thing. I know I was drunk but like
normal drunk people don't have that
much pent-up anger y'know I clearly
have a problem

Oh trust me we all knew you had a
problem

Stfu you dick

You know you love me

Yeah, that's the other thing I'm
working on in therapy

Ouch! I'm hurt and impressed by
that comeback
