"Guys, you're cutting it real close, lunch is almost o-" Jeff cut himself off as Kurt walked in the door, his arm around Blaine. "And you have Kurt. Oh, my god, you have Kurt."

"It's good to see you too," Kurt said, although his small laugh was half-hearted. Something was definitely wrong.

Jeff hugged him, but before he could ask what was wrong, Kurt burst out crying.

And he immediately knew what was wrong.

People were already in the halls, heading to all different destinations. They stopped to see what the commotion was about.

That is, until Sebastian turned towards them. He'd never done anything but he still managed to scare them more than anyone else in the school.

"And just what do you think you're looking at? Keep going, get out of here," he said, and they all disappeared. He turned back to the others, voice soft. "Let's get him back to his dorm. The smaller the group, the less attention it draws."

Eventually just Blaine and Wes ended up taking Kurt back to his dorm. Kurt kissed Blaine goodbye and asked Wes to stay behind.

"You wanted to talk to me?"

Kurt turned towards him. "Yes. Wes, I'm not an idiot, I know you and David were sneaking around at midnight, setting up pranks. I know the decision for him to come to the hospital to see me was completely yours, because he's too cautious to invite himself. I've seen- well, at least I saw how you look at him."

"Kurt, it's not-"

"You can't let what happened with Alex stop you."

"not-" Wes stopped short, sure he paled so much that Kurt could still notice. "You- but I didn't- how do you know what happened?"

"I saw the look in your eyes, Wes, the detached one, the fearful one. And it takes one to know one. But you can't let it hold you back. If I had, I wouldn't have ended up with Blaine."

"I don't even know what he thinks of me, or if he's gay," Wes said desperately.

"He definitely likes you, at least as a friend. You can ask him if he's gay, and you can ask Jeff if he's said anything about you."

"But I haven't known him long."

"Please. If not for yourself, do it for me. I'm probably never going to be able to see the love of my life ever again."

He sniffed, wiping his eyes. "Come on, don't play the pity card."

Kurt smiled softly. "Then do it because we're best friends."
