Wes had been trying to hype himself up all day, terrified he'd chicken out at the last moment.

You can't keep flirting with him and not follow through, he told himself firmly.

Finding David in the library, he sat down across from him.

"Lots of homework?"

David looked up, seeming startled, but relaxed when he saw who it was. "Hey. And yeah, I'm supposed to write about myself for English. They want to gauge my writing skills and learn about me, I guess." He shrugged.

Wes chuckled. "I remember writing that. I don't really like talking about myself, it wasn't my favorite."

"But you tell me about yourself," he pointed out, confused.

He smiled. "That's because I like talking to you."

David blushed, eyes wide. "You do?"

"I'm not the most social person. It's why I'm always locked away in the council room. But it's really easy to talk to you. I just find myself talking and talking about the smallest things."

"Well, I like listening to you," he said, smiling.

Wes rested his head on his hand, studying David's eyes.

But before he could do anything, David had leaned across the table, kissing him. He kissed back, taking David's face in his hands.

Wes had always thought a kiss was, well, a kiss. Two people pressing their lips together. He'd wondered why Nick and Jeff, Kurt and Blaine- why any couple would always kiss when they saw each other.

But now he understood how wrong he was.
