Jesse's P.O.V.

When I woke, I found myself in a strange place. Emma was no longer standing over me. In fact, after looking around the room I was in, I couldn't even find her. I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, instantly becoming aware of the pain in my limbs and joints.

I climbed down from the bed I was laying on and crept over to the door at the side of the room. Voices could be heard on the other side. I didn't remember being brought to a house after being jumped by that biker gang. I cautiously pushed open the door, and peered into the room on the opposite side.

Emma was sitting inside the room with the men who attacked us. She was laughing and having a good time, still in mint condition. All eyes raised to me as I entered the room.

"Good t'see ya up boy. Sorry we attacked y'all, we just don't like when people invade our Heaven. You shoulda just said something about the yungins momma." the leader said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I hope yer bruises aren't too painful." he mumbled, looking anywhere but at me. My whole body was painfully sore and covered in black and blue splotches. I almost said something, but one glance at Emma said otherwise.

The leader offered to show us to the door of this Heaven for all of our troubles. Once there, we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.

Emma was always the better one at finding the doors and opening them so I let her do the honors. Together we walked through the white light into the next Heaven.

We ended up in a middle eastern marketplace. The shopkeepers were yelling, trying to haggle their goods with the native people. All of a sudden I felt Emma's hold on my hand loosen. I frantically shoved past the growing crowds looking for her, my anxiety peaking with each second I couldn't find her.

All of a sudden a break in the crowd came and I saw two brown braids.

"Emma!" I yelled, shoving past two men arguing over a piece of whale bone. She was hugging a short, tan, woman dressed in traditional garb.

Emma turned around and the woman stood up, turning to look at me.

"Talia?" I questioned, not below being this was the woman we had spent 4 years searching for.

"Jesse? What are you doing here? You weren't supposed to die." She gasped, a surprised look forming on her face as the crowd swallowed us whole.
