"Hey tell me where you're going and if you know your destination"

Jesse's P.O.V.

Turns out we were in a small trading village in Lebanon, the place where Talia had grown up as a child. She was currently out showing Emma around. However, we did our share of catching up. She had told me on the way to her apartment that it wasn't my fault she died.

I had gotten out of the hospital weeks before she did. We never got to talk face to face, but she told me that because of her being thrown into a coma the doctors were able to find a bigger health problem.

She had cancer. She was able to fight it off for a couple of months but ultimately succumbed to the disease. This was a few months after I had killed myself.

When Talia found out that's how I died, she cried out and slapped me in front of Emma. I can't say I don't blame her, now that I've been dead, I miss being alive.

I miss feeling sad because of a mistake I made or insecure because of the way my hair looks on a certain day. I miss Chris.

It feels really good to admit that. Suddenly the door flies open and Talia and Emma stroll through, the older woman sitting across from me and the younger one running off to explore the house.

"I may know a way for you to get your life back. I've never seen it tried but it may work." Talia stated, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning back in her chair.

I can't say I wasn't concerned but at this point I didn't care. I was tired. Tired of being dead. So after Emma went to bed Talia and I went to work on the method she mentioned.

It turns out the "way" that Talia mentioned was basically riding a jetstream of souls back to earth. This was easier said than done as most often is the case.

Talia informed me that while she had been here, she had met a man who claimed to know how to reincarnate a soul and the man told her how. She didn't think anything of it until the man's son, who had just recently passed away, decided to test his father's idea. The son left and it's been months since anyone has seen him, but if the soulstream worked...no one knows for sure.

The tricky part isn't locating the soulstream, it runs parallel to the heavens. The part that most fail, if any one has ever even tried it, is riding the stream back to the living world or what's called up here, Assiah.

The souls that get caught in and make up the stream are the lost, broke and defeated. The ones who couldn't push through the veil into Elysium and let the tree of life build a heaven for them, so they now just drift around waiting to grab hold of something tangible to pull with them.

It's a risky move, but I'm going to take it.

Christ, work has taken up my whole summer and I haven't been able to write but I still love all of you❤
