1.)

I trained with Sfin for many days. He worked me hard, giving me no chance to think about things. Like how I was supposedly a werewolf or that I was living with a bunch of strangers far away from my band and my family. Things like that I had no time to think about. Until Lee came into my room one night after a hard day of training, the others had joined and had taught me a few things. They were beginning to trust me.

Lee opened my door without knocking and came in, sitting on the edge of my bed across from me where I was clipping my nails. I peered at her through my eyelashes, expecting some insult or threat.

"Elmira I think it's time I explained some things to you," She said and I leaned back in surprise.

"We're going on a mission tomorrow and you're coming, so I think it's time you learned what you are." Her voice was soft and made me all the more confused. Now that the time was here I wasn't sure how much I wanted to hear what she had to say. I mean, I had always been a normal girl. Perhaps a little morbid and maybe sometimes a little crazy but defenitely not werewolf. But I had to learn.

So, I nodded and sat up straight, preparing myself for her words.

"First of all, werewolves changing have absolutely nothing to do with the full moon. We think that myth was spawned from the fact that werewolves are so smart and so fast that before the invention of the light bulb people could only see them during the full moon." She had taken on the tone I called Teachers voice. Slow, and trying to get you to understand. A tone all teachers shared.

"Second, since you were bitten and survived, not born, then your first change will be harder and more painful."

"Great," I said dryly.

She smiled before continuing, "As your body slowly grows accustomed to the new you, you will either reject it and die or your body will change. We don't think you're going to reject it because you've survived so long already. But the first change could prove to much for your body to handle and it could kill you."

"Man, this just gets better and better," I sighed, she ignored me and began again.

"The first change could be triggered by any strong emotion. So you have to keep control of youself until your body naturally invokes the change, instead of it being forced on you," She leaned back and eyed me, "Do you have any more questions.

I gaped at her, "Well yeah but...I think they're the wrong ones. I need to take this in," I swallowed and looked at her with desperation. "This as all happening isn't it. This is all real."

"I'm sorry Elmira." She sounded geniuinly sad for me and for some reason that made me feel better.

"Nah, It's fine," I said, "Sulking around won't change what I am. I'll come tomorrow and hope that I'll be more help than burden." She smiled and patted my hand.

"Somehow I doubt that you'll be a burden El," she said and got up and left, closing the door behind her. She called me El. I sat there gawking for I don't know how long, before I finally grinned and got up to get ready for tomorrow.

2.)

I got up and we left by seven in the morning. We got into a dirty black car and on the way the others debriefed me, explaining that some sort of scaly, furry creature was attacking families in a tiny town in West Virginia with a population of 300. Our job was to kill it and leave.

"Do you know what it is," I questioned, "Or do we just run in waving our weapons and hoping for the best?"

Logan laughed, "The second one, more or less."
