CHAPTER 26 - TRUTH OR DARE

I went to the kitchen to grab a beer. When you turned around you bumped into Thor.

"Hello, Lady River, enjoying this party?" Thor said.

"Hey Thor, yup! What about you? Beer?"

"No need to ask me if I want a beer, the answer is always yes," he said, as I gave him a beer.

I was sitting down on the stairs getting an overview of everyone to see who was where. When I saw Bucky staring at me from afar, he was wearing a suit he looked fine as f***. He was on the couch sitting there by himself. I continued to look around the room and saw that Steve was also looking at me. I started feeling hot like the room was the desert and I was an ice cube about to be a puddle of water. I got up and went into the kitchen to cool off since there was no one in there. I got another beer and sat down on the counter getting lost in your thoughts.

Damn, he's so hot in a suit. Am I really falling for this guy??? I can't be this stupid, but he's... he's so hot... it's ridiculous! God, why'd you make a man look this hot but hate me with all his guts? Why lord why. I never wanted anyone this bad since him... wait? Bucky was my fiance. Maybe that's why I want him so bad??? Maybe it was faith that brought us together again. Maybe we were soulmates meant to be, but soulmates aren't real. They're just this corner thing people say. I was biting my lower lip just thinking about Bucky and drinking my second bottle. I heard someone come in, I looked up to see who it was, and sitting next to me was Bucky.

"Hey Doll, why aren't you with the rest of the party?" he asked me while brushing a strand of hair out of my face and behind my ear.

I turned a little red.

"Trying not to think, but it's hard..."

"Thinking and getting lost in your thoughts is a dangerous thing, doll. I know what it feels like," he said, rubbing my back.

The rest of the group came in and sat down at the table.

"Y'all okay?"

"I forgot how old I am," Bruce said.

"We ain't young anymore," Tony said,

"Y'all old like us now," Bucky said.

"Damn right! You guys ain't young like you were before. WELCOME TO THE OLD CLUB BITCHES!" I said, finishing my third bottle of beer.

We all started laughing.

"That's true! Steve, Bucky, and River are fossils and Thor doesn't count since he's immortal!" Sam yelled out.

I don't think anyone heard or would remember because they were all pretty much wasted at this point.

HOW OLD IS RIVER? IS SHE A SUPER SOLDIER LIKE ME AND STEVE? SAM SAID SO... HMM I NEED TO PULL UP HER FILE LATER ON

"Hey, you guys wanna play 'truth or dare' wanna join?" Nat yelled although we were all in the same room.

Bet she's drunk again. Let's see if she's going to be a drunker here in the compound or yesterday when we were at the bar.

"Come on River, don't be pissy," Steve said.
