Saturday, 10th December:
Leo: 13; Allison: 10; Scout: 9
---
"As Leo wished for his birthday yesterday, we are going to craft some wintery and Christmassy things today.", Owen announced to the three children after breakfast. They had gotten to open their calendars this morning, and had some time to spend with their new stuff, then the family had eaten, and now it was time to begin with today's special activity.
"Yay!", the three kids cheered simultaneously. "What are we crafting, Owen?", Scout wondered. He had started to leave out the "Uncle" part since that was kind of weird, considering the man was now his mother's boyfriend again. Same counted for Allison not calling Amelia her aunt anymore.
"We have like five different ideas for you to choose from.", the redhead continued. "If everyone finishes two crafts, we'd be super happy. And this afternoon, we can play in the snow outside.", he promised.
"Yeah, but which one, Dad?", Leo impatiently repeated the nine-year-old's question. "A snowman?", he guessed. "Or maybe a Christmas tree?", he questioned, watching his mama come in with a box full of stuff to use.
"We've got a template for an angel to make out of regular paper. Some stuff for Christmas cards, which you can design the way you want to. Each of you can color an ornament for our Christmas tree. There are some wood sticks in here to build your own snowflake or snowflakes with. And we've cut an egg carton, so you can make little Christmas trees out of them, color them green and add sparkles or draw on them or use these plastic gems.", Amelia explained. "And whatever you don't make today, you can still craft another time that we do this again.", she softly clarified. "Ally, how about you pick your first task?"
"I wanna make the Christmas tree first!", the little girl exclaimed excitedly and clapped her hands as she put on the apron the neurosurgeon was handing her, so she wouldn't mess up her clothes.
"Me too!", Scout decided and put on his own apron as he curiously glanced at Leo, who was still thinking about which task he'd do first. "And you?", he wanted to know from his brother.
"I'll start with my Christmas card.", the teenager let his family know. "Are you also going to craft something?", he asked his parents, who both nodded. They would also be here to help the children with their projects but were going to craft something too. "What will you make?"
"I'll build a few snowflakes.", his father told him and smiled. "And you, Honey?", he addressed his girlfriend, who wasn't sure yet. "You should color an ornament. You are super talented when it comes to painting, even if you rarely do it.", he encouraged her.
"Okay.", Amelia's face lit up. "I'll use five colors. Each of you has to pick one for me to use. Scoutty, you go first, then Leo, after that it's Allison's turn and then Owen's.", she made an order for the children again, so they wouldn't all talk at the same time.
"Red.", the little boy responded. "Because it's very Christmassy. Basically, screams Christmas if you ask me.", he giggled. "I'll probably use red for mine too, so we are also matching."
"I say blue.", the thirteen-year-old decided next. "Not as Christmassy, but nevertheless, it's the very best color there is.", he grinned, happy that his mother was going to include a choice of everyone into her work.
"And I want yellow.", his sister explained. "Maybe we can make a rainbow.", she figured before she concentrated back on her little Christmas tree, which she was currently coloring green.
"No Baby, we can't.", Owen softly denied her request. "Because we are only five people and would need more for a rainbow to look like one. Anyway, I'll pick green.", he beamed at his girlfriend and leaned over to peck her lips. "Before I start building, I'm going to turn on a radio play for us to listen to."
"Fine, then I'll choose purple.", the brunette announced and started coloring the ornament completely white to add colorful dots to it once it had dried later. She wanted all her family members included in her project, which was why she had asked them to choose a color.
For their second task for today, Leo made an ornament, Allison crafted an angel that kind of looked like her, at least it was supposed to, and Scout built two of his very own snowflakes with the help of Owen, since that project was a bit tricker than the other ones.
