"I know I said Sunday should be family day but having an extra day each week seems just perfect.", Owen said and chuckled. "Especially because making gingerbread houses is so messy and we'll all be happy about having to clean this mess only once throughout December."

"Gingabwead houses?", Ian excitedly questioned and clapped his hands. He had been wanting to do this for a while now and it finally seemed to be his time to shine. "Is evyone (everyone) making one?", he wondered.

"Nope, that would cost all of the adults every single nerve they have left.", Amelia replied with a smirk on her face. "But we are going to gather in groups of three that I have already thought of. Grandpa has the list."

"Alrighty, gingerbread house number 1 will be built by Amelia, Ethan and Riley.", the trauma surgeon announced, watching his oldest grandchild excitedly run into his wife's arms and smiling at them. "Second one is for Luca, Vicky and Finn.", he shared.

"Uncwles!", the youngest Hunt family member beamed happily. She loved her uncles and aunts so so much. Joyfully, she tried to climb into Luca's lap, making him chuckle and causing him to pick her up to help her.

"The third gingerbread house is going to be for Dennis, Ruby and Lils.", the redhead continued. They had made sure that all groups had two older family members and one younger one. "Ryan, Liam, and Connor, yours is number 4."

"I predict that one to be the most chaotic gingerbread house.", Katie guessed and started laughing when Ruby agreed with a nod. "Change our minds.", she challenged her husband, brother-in-law, and son.

"Number 5 is for Mira, Katie and Ian, which means that Leo, Robin and mine is house number 6.", Owen finished, feeling like the groups were mixed pretty well and therefore everyone was probably good. "Okay?"

"Very much so!", Lily giggled and walked over to the seats that had been prepared for group 3. She was so happy to get to work with her older sister and brother's boyfriend. "Does it have to be a house, or can it be anything?"

"It can be whatever you guys agree on, but let's say it needs to be some kind of shelter. Be creative.", her mother decided to make this whole project even more fun. This way, maybe not every single gingerbread work would end up looking the same way.

"So, does anyone have any ideas yet?", Finn wondered curiously. He couldn't wait until every group was done with their project and had to know what they were going to do beforehand.

"Yeah, we'll build a rocket.", Ryan answered. He wasn't sure if it would work out, but what counted was the thought. "What's everybody else doing?", he wanted to know, just as interested as his younger brother.

"We are making our house.", Leo announced. "But we probably don't have enough material for all of it because it's so big and will take so long.", he sighed, a little disappointed that their plan wouldn't totally work out.

"I wanna build the house too!", Riley yelled excitedly after hearing her uncle's words. "Can we, Grandma? Pretty please!", she cutely begged, noticing how her grandparents looked at each other and communicated through glances.

"We can.", the neurosurgeon confirmed. "If we join the others and instead of being two different groups, we become a big one. More people to get the job done and more material to work with. Are you in?"

"Yeah.", Ethan and Robin responded, while Riley already stormed over to her grandpa to help them, causing all the groups to rearrange their seating, so the huge group could work on the gingerbread house together.

"We'll make a library.", Dennis shared. This had been Lily's wish and since neither he nor Ruby had a problem with it, that was the idea they were going with. The eleven-year-old loved reading very much. "And you?", he addressed the remaining group.

"An indoor pool area.", Luca told the family since Finn and Victoria were already busy with preparing some of the walls together. "Let's see which building is going to turn out the best.", he challenged.
