Chinese new years
SalesTo Phoenix she really was nothing special, she was just a girl related to a dark person. She was related to someone who didn't care for someone's pain and who didn't show weakness. Wednesday had always been the one who was something special because she was Wednesday. When it came to anything it had always seemed that Phoenix was the side kick while Wednesday was the one who stole the show, she was the one who bossed the brunette around. Because that's what Wednesday was, she was a leader and Phoenix was far to scared to even attempt to stand tall against her.
The brunette had always had the habit of tearing herself apart in the mirror, everything was never perfect. Her eyes, her nose, her lips that weren't full and plump like Wednesdays were. Her cheeks, the way her hair fell, her stomach. Everything was something she'd pick apart, judge it until she couldn't do so anymore. No matter how much someone could tell her she was so beautiful she could never believe them.
Because it's hard to believe something you've barley been told. Though every second of the day you're hearing the small voice in you're head telling you that your not good enough. That your stomach should be more flat, your eyes less droopy and less tired, that your nose should be smaller, it was an endless game of how much she could tear herself down and break herself until she cried and had to fix her makeup.
Throughout a women's life she will constantly have a man tell her something she should fix. A man would never understand the struggles that came with being female, the constant beauty standards and the feeling of never being enough for the male gaze.
Shiny lipgloss covered her lips, along with the rest of her face with makeup, hiding any flaws her skin holds. The black and white uniform hugged the her body, it was tight and it made her feel more conscious then she would've wished. A soft knock vibrated through the dark wood door, the brunettes digits wrapped around the knob pulling it open and stepping out. Her black platforms clicking when they came in contact with the floor boards.
Her head held high as she walked down the stairs her bag on her back and a blank stare her eyes empty.
The best thing about confidence is that no one knows how much is real and how much is fake. Fake it til you make it, that was something Phoenix had always done. She walked with her head high, pretended that words didn't hurt her, while on the inside she hated the words people would spill about her, and she hated the ones whose confidence was all real, because their body's were perfect.
"Let's go miss Addams" the principal smiled staring at the girl who nodded her hands folded Infront of her body. Cascading down the steps Phoenix tried not to feel such anxiety under all the stares she was receiving. Walking through the quad her eyes once again trained on his canvas, paint splotches we're on his hands, and though oh how Phoenix longed to see his face she never was granted that wish.
Miss Weems ushered her to walk faster. In a different world Phoenix would have pushed the anxiety away and waltz up to him to talk to him, have a normal conversation with him, but this wasn't a different world or a different universe it was the same one that she didn't want.
Her black platforms made the girl stand at a whole 5'5 giving her an extra two inches taller, standing at the same height as her sister. A building with glass doors came into view as Weems stopped the vehicle, unlocking the doors. "Will you be here the whole time?" Wednesday questioned climbing out of the vehicle, her eyes glaring at the white haired women who smiled with her bright red lips. "Maybe after we could go get some hot chocolate?" The women suggested, her eyes glancing between the two sisters who stood side by side.
"Your underpaid" Phoenix stated slamming the door shut before waltzing into the building being met with a blonde women who smiled largely at the two girls as she led them upstairs to the room.
Wednesday gave the girl a curt nod, slowly while the women was talking Phoenix pulled off the ring on her finger, gently snapping her hand to the left, listening to the large crash from down stairs. "Stay here" the women warned leaving the room.
Mistake 1.
The two quickly made their way to the bathroom locking the door behind them, "Thing?" Phoenix mumbled holding her hand towards Wednesdays bag a nail file was gently placed into her hand. Pacing it to Wednesday who quickly unlocked the window pushing it up, the two quickly climbing through. Their legs running a long the roof. A small smile rested on Phoenix's lips as they jumped down speed walking away from miss Weems.
Looking back Wednesday cane in contact with a man holding a crate of apples, her head snapped back and her body went stiff. It was over within a second and the two were walking away.
