Ember placed a sheet of unbaked bread in the stone cast oven, pulling down the tin oven door, she walked to her dough mixer that was in the process of mixing the next batch of cinnamon buns. Ember honey buns that were almost out. She called for her sister Andromeda "ANDRO! New customers, get your ass off your phone and get over here!" Em walked into the back and to the walk-in fridge "I know you're in there cher' get on out before I beat you with a baguette." she growled pulling open the door as Andromeda grunted "I was just hexting Jaxson! Am I not allowed to have a break?" Andro growled as she walked out to the counter greeting the new customers as Ember sighed grumbling about Hexiphones taking up all her sister's time, making it to where she wasn't doing any work.

They set out the next batch of honey buns along with the small jars of honey that her and her sister harvested from their own bees that they spent all of Andro's collage funds on, they sold them for cheap so they would get more customers flooding in, the person would come for the honey but would see the cheap pastries and small cartons of eggs and milk sold for less, and would come back constantly for quality, and quantity ingredients and foods, a good business model that allowed her to get more people and money in. This was how she hoped to afford a low hanging Magno , a floating island that commanded respect and showed status among the people. Em was hoping to get one, andro was going into high school by the end of summer and she was going to a high status school; She didn't want her sister to get made fun of if she lived on the ground, plus Magnos had better filtered water, nicer grass, and people couldnt knock on your door to ask for food, all the perks. Problem was, Magnos were really expensive, most cost millions of dollars even low hanging ones that only had at least 3 bedrooms. Ember hadn't been concerned about price, she had just wanted her sister happy.

The doors swung open to the noisiest people in all of Skyline.

Blake Smith, Bethany Walters, Garold Rogers, and Nicholas Williams walked through the door and walked up to the counter.

They were all Drainers, like Ember herself. They all worked for the government of Skyline, Draining the soul and emotions out of people, selling the Shells to the rich and giving the energy they drained from the people to the council for their own reasons which they never shared.

"Hey Amber" said Bethany as she smirked and placed a hand on her hip.

Ember shook her head and rolled her eyes "it's Ember" she muttered.

"Whoopsie, so many names and so many faces can you blame me for forgetting?" asked Bethany innocently.

"Anyway, what are you guys doing here, you know it's dangerous to be out in public?" asked Ember with an edge to her voice.

Garold shrugged " have you noticed no masks? Also I have no idea why I am here" he said harshly

Blake scoffed "well long story short I'm hungry"

Nicholas rolled his eyes "we have a council meeting tomorrow and we need just four more targets so we were about to get going. You comin?" he asked.

Ember winced"I can't today my sister is helping with the bakery and if I left her here by herself she would not be able to handle it"

She wanted to come especially since it was Nicholas who was asking but she just couldn't.

"Besides I'm closing today" she added as she walked over to one of the glass cases with fresh baked honey buns.

She opened it and grabbed four sticky honey buns and placed them into a bag, she handed them the bag "just go eat and don't get caught" she said with a scowl towards Bethany.

"What is that look for? It happened once! Just once!" said Bethany.

Blake nudged her shoulder "let's go" he grouched
