"Let the pain begin!"
???
"WHO?" SHE'S CONFUSED.
"It's a long story."
"No, that's not Belinda," I rub my eyes, correcting my visions because I refuse to believe the reality I'm seeing. "This is your sick trickery. It's not Belinda. No, it's not her."
"It very much is her, I'm afraid," he forces my chin up to her. Her fangs were tainted with Perseus's injuries, and so were her talons. Her hissing cobras unravel her beauty, but I can't seem to look past it, as all I see is Belinda Troy, Alex's murderer. I can almost picture her in her human form. "She was Medusa in this lifetime."
He released me and appeared next to her, tugging on the cobras that Perseus decapitated.
"It's a shame she remains an animal even in the twenty-first century," with his powers, the cobra grew a new head. "Regardless, she'd make a powerful weapon in any world."
"Thank you, master," she bows. "The demigod is finished. What would you have me do next?"
He stretches his hands out as he pours his powers on Medusa, chanting a spell unknown to me.
She falls to the ground, screaming in agony, clawing at the ground as the transformation begins. Poisonous spikes shoot out of her tail, her talons now stronger with armors protecting her body. The cobras of her hair turn to vipers enchanted with spitting venoms that burn anything it touches. And finally, a golden bow with infinite arrows rests in her hand.
"Master?" She straightens her back, marveling at her new gifts.
"There's your champion," he gestures to me.
"I said I won't use my powers, but that doesn't mean you'd get to abuse your powers!"
"You did, but you see, I don't play fair," he then aims his powers my way.
"What are you doing!"
"Making this even more interesting."
I couldn't move. In front of me, an orb appears, draining my powers into it as it grows bigger. I felt my body weaken to the point I could no longer stand. The orb stops, and I fall to my knees.
"Now, it's an unfair fight," he laughs, and the orb levitates over his palm. "Oh, don't worry, you could still fly, just not very high."
"What did you do to me?" I force myself up, feeling as though a whale is upon me.
"I hold your powers in my hand," the orb abandons his palm and starts flying around the cave. "It's simple, really. If you manage to catch your powers, you'd be able to use them on her. Until then, you'd only have your flying ability and whatever strength you have to defeat her."
"You piece of—"
"Oh, come on, you gotta admit, this is even more interesting, right?" He flies to high ground, and a throne of human skulls appears under him. He takes a seat, and another margarita appears in his hand. "Let the pain begin!"
