Captain stepped into the room, shivering as they realized that the entire ship was so cold. They rubbed their gloved hands together as they walked down the hall, opening the door to the cryo area. Through the chilled window, they could see an outline of a person with glowing blue eyes and accents.

Cici had turned the ship into a cryo chamber and was offering to put the Captain to sleep with everyone else. Captain was extremely tired and every choice they made was wrong and got Mark killed, or got everyone killed.

"Just step into the tank, Captain." Cici insisted.

The Captain glanced at the tank, nodding and stepping into it.

Sleep was welcome, but bright. The hum of the machine was soothing and the time away from worry was exactly what they needed.

Out of nowhere, after an amount of time they were uncertain of, the chamber opened. The door eased itself open as if it had been accidentally nudged. The chill started to leave the captain's body as they stepped out.

There were voices coming from down the corridor and Captain decided to follow them. They were familiar but so muffled they couldn't place it. The voices also weren't really talking, they were making other noises. Those noises were soon revealed to be moans and, if they had to guess, kissing.

Captain found the office the noises were coming from and bit their lip, listening for another moment, a new kind of chill ran through Captain.

Two choices they had never seen before came up. They could open the door, or they could go back to sleep.

A familiar voice inside brought them to reality. Tears welled up as they opened the door and peered in. The sound hadn't caught the others' attention just yet.

Cici was standing with her hips pressed to the edge of the desk, she had her pants on but was only in her bra. She leaned forward, one hand resting on Marks chest and the other gripping his chin.

Mark was sitting on the desk, his muscular legs straddling Cici, bracing himself on the floor by his toes. He was also only in his pants. Her hand slid up and gripped his dark and messy curls, he hadn't been in cryo, his hair had grown.

They kissed hard, Cici seeming to be more dominant as she pressed forward, forcing Mark to lean back. She propped one knee on the desk to get up on it partially as Mark fully leaned back on his elbows.

Captain made a slight but audible gasp, causing Marks head to jerk their direction.

There wasn't shock, there was guilt in his eyes. He pursed his lips, holding back some other emotion as he stared at them. Cici could tell something had changed, Mark had lost all the passion he had just been exuding.

She stood up and stared at the Captain, her eyes slowly narrowing.

"There are only three people that can open the cryo chambers. Me, Captain and Mark." She snarled, punching him in the gut as she got off the desk. He doubled over, hugging his midsection.

"Cici..." He said half heartedly, reaching for her absently as she stormed out.

"Captain." Cici said, stopping in front of them,"I'm sorry."

With that she stormed off.

Mark had sat up, lacing his hands together between his knees. He twirled his thumbs with one another, watching them, his hair brushed to the side.

"Captain." He whispered.

They shook their head angrily and made a large strike motion at him. He ran his hand through his curls.

"I did nothing wrong." Mark said absently.

Captain took a half step back in shock.

"I was making out with Cici. That's not a crime." He said, getting louder.

Captain slapped the door next to them.

"Captain! It's not like you and had anything or were anything. Just flirtatious looks, a bit of comraderie. I couldn't get up the nerve and then I started to notice something about Cici." He said, smiling but it didn't reach his eyes, what little of them Captain could see.

He didn't move other than to run his hand through his hair. That was a new nervous tic he had acquired.

"Why are you still here? Not like we can converse." He said,"You're mute."

Captain let the tears fall, making some motions with their hands. It wasn't sign language, it was just something they did.

"I can't do this." Mark said, shaking his head as he ran his hands both through his hair. Captain narrowed their eyes.

"Captain, after what i saw in the diner..." He said, sliding his hands from his hair and to his face.

Finally, Captain started to cry and couldn't take it. They sobbed a broken and raspy sound. They couldn't properly speak or sob or cry or scream.

They cried and walked over to Mark. When he looked up, Captain slapped him.

"What are you trying to say?" He said in response to some motions Captain made. His eyes were brimming with tears too.

Why was he doing this, what good would it do? Why was he hurting them?

They closed their eyes then turned on their heel, stomping away and down the hallway.

"Captain?" Mark called after them ,"Captain!"

They heard Mark coming after them. They didn't care, they walked and walked, feeling like they were in honey. They walked into the airlock and shut the door.

"Captain no! What will this solve! Get out of the airlock.

Captain wished they had looked him over a little longer, for they didn't think they would ever see nor ever want to see him this way, or any way again.

They pulled the lever, shooting into space.
