Sitting in Rosarias car you typed out messages to your housemates group chat. You'd made the decision to text them every day you were gone, partially to make sure they were still alive, but also because you'd miss them. You had lived with the group for so long, you'd grown used to seeing Xiangling cooking up a storm every morning, walking to classes with Bennett, your conversations with Xinqiu and Chongyun. You would miss it all.
"Everything's going to be fine Y/N. I'm sure you'll be back home in no time", Rosarias eyes glancing to the obvious look of worry on your face.
"I hope so", was all you could reply with as you turned to the window watching the city flash by in a blur.
Entering Rosarias apartment, you were met with concerned looks from Jean and Lisa. You brushed off their concerns claiming that everything was fine. When truth was, you were scared to death. For the lives of your friends still in the house, for Rosaria and the other vampires fighting to protect Mondstadt. For your own life. Everything was happening so quickly.
Rosaria helped move your bags to the guest room before the two of you returned to the lounge with the others. Opening your phone once more, you checked to see if you had received anymore messages. Rosaria glanced at the screen before swiping the phone from your hands.
"Rosaria what're you doing?", You questioned but she payed you no mind handing the device over to Jean.
"Any chance you could trace that", she asked showing Jean the messages.
You heard Jean mumble under her breath slightly, caught off guard by the threatening messages. Pinching the bridge of her nose with concern she handed the phone back to you.
"No chance. They're using burner phones, you can tell by these digits here", she added pointing out the repeating digits in the phone numbers.
"This is definitely a police matter though, do your friends know about this?", Jean continued.
"No they don't", you replied feeling slightly guilty. Had you just put your friends in danger?
"We didn't tell them because it's obvious they're only after Y/N" Rosaria continued explaining the state you'd found your bedroom in.
"I don't think this is just a random person Jean", Rosaria continued in an attempt to discourage excessive police involvement.
"We do have a few people on file", Jean muttered thinking back to some of the reports she'd seen on you. How many people? How did the police apparently know so much about you? Your mind struggled to reach any conclusion.
"We should probably get going, it's getting late", Jean said interrupting your thoughts. Lisa stood from the couch grabbing her bag keeping the young girls hand in hers.
Saying your goodbyes, you noticed how gentle and caring Rosaria was with Qiqi. The way she reassured her that they'd be together again, the warm embrace she gave the girl before ruffling her hair slightly. Once the three of them left, the apartment felt a lot more empty. Rosaria still stood almost frozen to the spot where she said her final goodbye to Qiqi.
"You really care about that kid. Don't you?" You whispered pulling her into a half hug.
"She was so scared that night. I told her I'd protect her, but here I am giving her away to someone else", Rosaria mumbled still glued to the spot.
"Rosaria. You are protecting her, your giving her a safe place to stay, until you can properly care for her", you argued now pulling Rosaria into a proper hug, standing on your toes slightly.
"... I hope you're right", she mumbled in reply her arms wrapping around your waist. You stayed in the embrace, for as long as you could before Rosaria pulled away for a moment.
"Let's get you settled in", in a swift motion her arms were around you once again lifting you from the ground with ease. You laughed slightly at the action wrapping your legs around her torso, pressing a kiss to her cheek as she carried you to your room.
Gently throwing you down on the bed Rosaria quickly pressed her cool lips to yours, before the two of you began unpacking your belongings.
Rosaria gave you a full tour of the apartment, showing you each of the rooms. Except for one, she explained how it was simply a cool room and that you wouldn't like to see what's on the other side. Taking her word for it, she continued showing you around.
Rosarias room wasn't far from yours, she was always nearby if you needed her.
"Why don't we get takeout tonight? Then tomorrow we can get some proper food", you agreed to her suggestion. As you suspected food may have been a bit of an issue.
When the food arrived the two of you sat at the table. You decided to bite the bullet and ask what was on your mind.
"So Rosaria? You eat human food, but don't you need blood. To survive?", You asked burning with curiosity
"This really doesn't sustain me at all, it's just nice to eat solid food rather than just liquid", she replied gesturing to her food.
"And one more thing... What's the deal with garlic? Is that a myth?", You added slightly worried as to what her reply would be.
"Garlic is half a myth, it won't kill me. Just makes me sick", she replied causing more thoughts to stir.
Could she go in the sun?
Was she seen in mirrors? you hadn't actually noticed.
Could she turn into a bat?
Did she sleep?
Before you could ask the next question you were shut down by Rosaria.
"I can answer more vampire questions later. You need to eat", she continued.
Could she read minds or something? You would be in a lot of trouble if she could. Surely she would tell you if she could read your mind. Right?
Once the two of you finished eating you moved to the couch where Rosaria put on a movie. Neither of you payed much attention to it as you practically interrogated the woman with questions.
She could go in the sun, but burnt very easily, which she could usually combat with sunscreen.
She couldn't turn into a bat, or any different form for that matter.
She didn't sleep much, she didn't need to. Which then also brought up the question of. why did she have a bed? But you refrained from asking that one.
And thankfully she could not read your mind.
As for the mirror question, she left that a mystery, for you to find out.
The more you learnt about the woman, the more you fell for her. You wanted to make things official with her. Be able to formally call her your girlfriend. But with all the chaos surrounding your lives, you weren't sure that now was the right time.
With the movie over and your questions answered Rosaria walked with you back to your room. You climbed into the bed letting out a yawn as Rosaria sat at your side. You felt her hand gently caress your arm, styling you into the new enviroment. Placing a kiss to your forehead you whispered a goodnight as Rosaria turned out the bedside lamp, the only light being from the hallway outside the room.
"I promise I'll protect you Y/N", she whispered barely audible, leaving the room.
