Something Out There

The drive was quiet Rosaria seemed almost infuriated, she gripped the steering wheel so hard her knuckles were white. She wore a scowl on her face, had you upset her somehow?

"I'm sorry", you told her quietly

She glanced over at you seeming shocked by your words.

"Why are you sorry?"

"You've seemed distant these past few days and now I call you out here and there was nothing for me to be worrying about", you explained feeling guilty.

Rosaria let out a sigh as if contemplating telling you something.

"Listen you may not believe me, but there was something out there. I can't tell you what but it was there", she explained keeping her eyes on the road.

Your blood ran cold. There was something there you hadn't just imagined it. Thinking about it you were insanely lucky, if you hadn't left your student card behind Rosaria wouldn't have been nearby. You would've been a goner.

"Why couldn't I see it?" You asked quite confused

..." I can't tell you why", she said with no emotion in her voice. Pulling into your driveway.

"Would you come inside for a bit?", You asked leaving Rosarias car. She hesitated for a moment before also getting out. The sun had almost completely disappeared only a few slivers of light remained. Chongyun sat with the still sick Bennett on the couch, leaving a lot of space between them as if Bennett was contagious.

"Hey Y/N... And Rosaria?" Bennett greeted, slightly confused by Rosarias return to your home.

Chongyun gave you both a wave and gave you a not so subtle wink. You felt yourself cringe slightly just hoping Rosaria didn't see it as the two of you made your way to your room. Rosaria closed the door behind her almost separating the two of you from the rest of the house.

You sat at the end on your bed and patted the spot next to you for Rosaria to join. She sat down with you as she looked around your room you had spent a lot of time decorating your room to your liking and you were quite proud of it.

"It's not safe for you to be walking alone anymore", Rosaria stated

"What do you mean? Not safe?"

"The thing that was hunting you today. It's the same thing that's been attacking those people lately and now it wants you" you could hear the slight worry in her voice.

"It won't leave you Y/N. I know these things once they pick a target they can't give up", the more she told you the more scared you felt. There was something out there that wanted you dead and it wouldn't quit until you were.

"What do I do?"

"You need to stay here, I can handle the rest" she reassured patting your shoulder. She seemed very stern with her warning but she seemed confident in what she was doing.

"And what will you do?"

"I'll take care of it" she smiled

She'll take care of it? What was she going to do? You didn't want to lose Rosaria.
You quickly wrapped her in a hug ignoring the coldness of her skin.

"Thank you Rosaria, you really saved me today"

You felt her wrap an arm around you, making you feel safe.

"Y/N! Are you here?!", You heard Xiangling yell as she burst into your room. You and Rosaria pulled away.

"Oh thank goodness you're ok Y/N", Xiangling said wrapping you in a hug.

You wanted to tell Xiangling about what happened, but you saw Rosarias shake her head out the corner of your eye. As if telling you not to.

Xiangling eventually released you from the rib crushing hug before saying a quick hello to Rosaria and leaving the room.

"I should get going", Rosaria said standing from the bed. You lightly took her hand before standing and pulling her into another hug. Words nor actions could never describe how thankful you were. Rosaria returned the hug and you stayed in her embrace for a moment before she pulled away again.

"Be sure to lock your doors and windows", she warned before leaving.

Rosaria pov:

The night air was cold as I made my way back the college campus where I found Y/N. Just as I had suspected it was still there, as if waiting for her to return. I parked my car a few blocks away and ran the rest meeting with the almost feral Vampire. I could see the hunger in its eyes, it didn't seem to know any better.

"Why are you here?" I called drawing it's attention, his eyes glowed red.

"You should know these areas are off limits for hunting"

He seemed to ignore my words and simply approached cautiously. Stopping a few metres away from me. It was as if he stared tight through me paying no attention to my existence.

"Things are getting rather. Boring where I come from. My coven decided to travel. Find some. New blood", he stated laughing hysterically.

"There is already a coven here, you should move on before we have to remove you"

Once again the feral laughed hysterically. It was obvious he was still young maybe only a few decades.

"Guess you'll have to remove us then. Because we're here to stay", he added stepping closer until he was breathing in my face.

Without wasting another moment, his head was removed from his body. His body crumpled into a heap.

"I have no time for ferals like you", I told him using my lighter to set fire to the head. Once the head was lit his body turned to dust blowing away in the wind.

I returned to my car making my way back to my home. There was more than one, they didn't just hunt for food. They hunted for thrill of killing, that was made quite obvious today. He could've killed Y/N I'm an instant if he wanted to, but he didn't, he taunted her giving his prey a "chance to escape" before killing her. If his friend were anything like he was, there would be an even greater problem. I had to protect them, all of them, but I couldn't do it without the others. Diluc, Eula, Ei, Miko, Xiao. We had to act fast, by the end of the month there could be well over one hundred new Vampires in the area.
