Taking your warm hand Rosaria guided you to another room her cool skin on yours, sending goosebumps over your skin.

She brought you into what you assumed to be her bedroom sitting on the end of the bed gesturing for you to do the same. Her room was no different to the rest of the house following the colour scheme of gloomy colours with splashes of red.

Cupping her cheek with your hand you rubbed your thumb over her cool skin inspecting the scratches on her face from last night's fight.

Noticing your intrigue she pulled away from your touch turning her back to you, lifting her shirt to reveal all the others on her back. New wounds and old scars decorated her skin.

"That's the worst of it", she whispered chuckling slightly.

All the deep cuts and bruises littering her skin left you speechless. The deep crimson and purples stood out against her pale skin. Almost in a trance you traced a finger over one of the marks earning a shiver from the woman. You continued tracing each of the injuries concern and astonishment filling your mind.

How could she think so little of this? Did they not hurt? Who had done this to her?

Maybe you'd been staring for too long, but some of the bruises and cuts seemed to be more faded than when you had first look.

"Rosaria. The cuts and bruises. They're fading", you half questioned astonished by the injuries healing before your eyes.

"Vampire perk, we heal rather quickly. Injuries like these from other vampires take a little longer", she explained pulling her shirt back down, hiding the marks. Concern was clearly evident on your face as Rosaria rubbed your back comfortingly.

"I'm fine Y/N, this is nothing", she told you as if her back wasn't turned into a graveyard or scars.

"You're so reckless with your life Rosaria. You could've died", you replied feeling a lump rise in your throat. What if she didn't make it out alive? what if after the next fight you'd lose her?

"I died long ago Y/N", she replied finding humour in the grim circumstances. But you weren't seeing the funny side of it.

"What if we lost you. What if I lost you?!", You continued feeling tears fill your eyes as you did your best too hold them back.

Now picking up on the dire tone in your voice. Her arms wrapped around your body pulling you close, now the tears were rolling down your cheeks as you buried your face into her shoulder. Rosarias embrace was comforting, the way her arms kept you securely in place and how her hand brushed along your back.

"You won't lose me Y/N", she whispered placing a kiss on top of your head.

"You don't know that", you whispered back, the fear of losing the woman you loved growing more and more.

"I do know that Y/N", she replied pulling away from the hug and lifting your face to meet her gaze.

"Now I have someone to live for", she continued placing a delicate kiss on your lips. Melting into the kiss you felt Rosarias cool skin brush away the tears on your cheeks, before pulling away from your lips. You felt a slight blush rush to your face under Rosarias loving gaze. Her words had calmed you slightly, knowing that she had more care for her life than you thought.

A chime from your phone interrupted the moment, bringing your attention to the message you received.

"Go ahead", Rosaria whispered allowing you to check your phone. You assumed it was xiangling asking if everything was ok, but you felt your heart drop when you saw the message.
Picking up on the rapid change in your expression Rosaria looked at the screen.
A perspective photo of your house, a sharpened blade being held in the hand of the person taking the photo. From the same number that you received a text from that morning. Your blood ran cold as your phone chimed again.
"Make you regret"
