Chapter 30

"How did you escape?" Jamie asks me as we take a walk around the gardens.
"What?" I say keeping an eye on the twins, who were running around with their nursery maid.
"You escaped, how did you do it?" He asks.
"It was easy really. The hound had offered to take Sansa during the battle, she refused. I couldn't go as I just had the babies. Joffrey cast me aside and your father tried to marry me. I snuck out of the window, all of the guards were mostly dead due to the battle, I caught up with the hound and he took me to the woods before he got captured. That's when I ran into you and Brianne." I say and he laughs.
"I knew that. I mean what happened after?" He asks, looking at me intently.
"Well I left with Roose Bolton after you rescued Brianne, he took me to my brother in the twins. The day of the Red wedding. I decided to stay in the tent's, I had just traveled and the twins needed feeding. Thank god I did. I narrowly escaped death. I stole one of their horses and rid until I couldn't anymore. I ran into my brothers. Bran and Rickon, what by the way I still haven't forgiven you for." I say and Jamie laughs guiltily.
"He went north of the wall, I couldn't stop him. I went to Castle black where Jon protected me for a while, he left to go retrieve Bran from beyond the wall, all of the men of the nights watch were always eyeing me, and there was a wildling attack coming so I fled, that's when I arrived at your shop, trying to make a fresh start in Dorne." I say and Jamie looks at me.
"How long did you spend in castle black?" He asks, a jealous hint in his voice.
"4 months." I say.
"And Jon?" He asks.
"He was fine." I reply.
"I know what your trying to do Jamie. He fell in love with a Wildling. Don't worry. Plus I don't have to explain anything to you! You fucked your sister after you left me in Harenhall." I say and the kids run over. There almost two, and for two year olds, there really literate.
"Mummy!" Alicent yells running into my arms, Robb runs into Jamie's.
"When are we leaving for Casterly rock?" I ask Jamie as he plays with Robb.
"I am unsure." He says looking at me.
"You promised. You promised we may have Casterly rock." I say and he sighs.
"Cersei won't let us leave." He says and I nod knowingly.

The next day Jamie rides to the sept, queen Margery is to be released.
"Be safe." I say kissing him as he exits the castle.
"I always am." He replies, kissing me back.
"Where's daddy going?" Alicent asks.
"He's going to fight for the Queen." I say bending down onto her level.
"Why?" She asks.
"He's the head of the king's guard, it's what he does." I say smiling.
"Okay!" She says walking off.
Cersei approaches us, Alicent runs back to me.
"Don't be afraid child." Cersei says to her.
"I'm not afraid!" She says back."
"Alicent!" I say and she comes back.
"Sorry about her, she thinks she's a higher lady than the rest of us." I say laughing, I look out the window and try and see the battle.
"Jamie loves you." Cersei says.
"I know, he loves you too." I reply, ruffling Robb's hair.
"You are the one he wishes to marry." She replies.
"I am." I say back as I spy the guards coming back to the castle.
The throne room fills with guards. Jamie stands before the king, armour falling off. I grab the twins and hold them close.
"When you attack the Faith, you attack the Crown. Anyone who attacks the Crown is unfit to serve as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard." The king yells.
"I've been a member of the Kingsguard since before you were born. You don't have to do this. You don't have to do anything." Jamie says, trying to reason with him.
"I have to answer to the gods." Tommen says.
"Mummy what's happening?" Robb whispers into my ear.
"Nothing baby." I whisper back.
"Not when you're sitting in that chair." Jamie says to Tommen.
"The Crown's decision on this matter is final." He orders.
"Will I be walking naked in the streets? Or will I spend a few months in the sept dungeons first to teach me about the gods' mercy?" Jamie says, I hope they don't take him on that offer.
"You have served your house and your king faithfully for many years. And you will continue to do so. But not in this city." Tommen orders and Jamie is forced out of the hall. I run after him.

"What is happening?" I ask and he shrugs.
"I am unsure." He says to me, taking the rest of his armour off.
"We may well go to Casterly rock now." He says smiling. A guard comes up to us.
"The king has orders that you deal with the Blackfish. An army is being created for you to go defend Walder Frey." The guard says, i look down at my feet.
"Your dismissed." I say to the guard.
"Blackfish is my uncle. Walder Frey killed my family. If it comes to it. We shall kill Walder." I say before walking off with the twins to pack.

That evening I make my way to Jamie's chamber when I hear voices inside, I stop to listen.
"I'm being sent to deal with the Blackfish. Apparently Walder Frey can't manage it on his own because he's 400 years old. Sent me with an army to the Riverlands and a siege that could last months." Jamie says angrily. I hear his feet pace around.
"Better you're elsewhere at the head of an army than in the sept dungeons." The voice says, the voice of Cersei.
"I'm not going to the Riverlands." He says pouring a cup of wine.
"What, then?"
"I'm going to give Bronn the largest bag of gold anyone's ever seen and have him gather the best killers he knows. I'll take them to the sept and I'll remove the High Sparrow's head and every other sparrow head I can find." Jamie says angrily I can imagine the look on his face.
"You can't." Cersei says.
"He has our son! He stole our son! He's torn our family apart. How should we treat people who tear us apart?" Jamie yells, I'm his family now.
"We should treat them without mercy and we will. But if you kill the High Sparrow, you won't leave the sept alive. And without you, this is all for nothing. Stand at the head of our army where you belong, where Father wanted you. Show our men where their loyalties belong. Show them what lannisters are, what we do to our enemies. And take that stupid little castle back because it's ours and because you can." Cersei protests.
"You'll stand trial soon. I need to he here for you." Jamie says, I look through the door and see how close they are.
"It will be a trial by combat. I have the Mountain. They've made us both stronger, all of them." Cersei says, going closer to him.
"They have no idea how strong we are. No idea what we're going to do to them." Cersei says before kissing him intently. I wait for him to push Cersei away and it never happens, I see her whisper something in his ear and he smirks and continue kissing. I felt broken inside.
