That memory was when I was 8 years old and Yeonjun was 10.
I was slightly older, I was eleven right before mother died and father left that same year when this other memory occurred.
Father really thought of me as the favourite whereas the opposite was said for my mother. Mother really liked Yeonjun. Praised him for his good looks and said that he would be extraordinary.
She would tell me that dyeing my hair blonde was not right. At the time I had a huge phase of wanting to dye my hair blonde and she didn't let me. Whereas Yeonjun was allowed to dye his hair blonde.
I slept facing my bedroom wall that night.
Suddenly the door creaked open, I stiffened and pretended to be asleep.
"Psst, it's me Balleli." Yeonjun comes in, He sits opposite to me. I give him a big smile, roughly pushing the tears away from my eyes.
"Hey." I say, brushing my hand through his blonde hair.
"You look really pretty with blonde hair. It suits you." I say. Twisting one of the strands of his hair around my fingers.
"Shhh.. okay I've got the blonde hair dye thing right here." Yeonjun whispers.
"No way! Seriously! Oh my god!" I yell all three phrases at the same time.
"YES WAY SIS!' Yeonjun's eyes are bright as he leans close.
"Ok, it will be a little sticky on your hair but you just got to deal with it. Also the whole head is blonde?" Yeonjun instructs.
I close my eyes tightly, "Yes sirrr!" I quietly laugh.
"Are we going for a whole head blonde?" Yeonjun asks.
"Duh?" I respond, slapping his knee frantically so he can start dyeing my hair.
-1 hr later-
Yeonjun flashes a torch in my eyes.
"Gah." I yell, covering my eyes.
"You look cute." He smirks, brushing my blonde hair back.
"That sounds so wrong, since you're my brother." I mumble.
"I mean, you look good with blonde. Bro, what are you thinking." Yeonjun nudges my shoulder hard.
"Nevermind." I cover my face, disguising my laughter as violent coughs.
"Well do you like it?" Yeonjun says, holding a mirror in his other hand.
"Yeah, it looks so stylish." I touch my hair and smile.
"You know the name Mira, it has the same sound as the word Mirror." I randomly say.
"Yeah, I know, what about it?" Yeonjun says, putting the blonde dye can.
"That was what we named our cat before he ran away. I really hope we can get a cat again." I say in disappointment.
"I promise, we'll get a cat soon. Together. Pinky promise?" Yeonjun's eyes shred certainty.
"Okay okay." I say and link my pinky with his.
