one day I'll find myself in the desert sands
standing there,
just standing thereone day I'll find myself in the desert sands
and I'll question
just questionone day I'll find myself in the desert sands
the wind will chafe my lips and cheeks
sting my eyes with tears
the wind will whisper cold dark things
invisible, except for its decisions
all while standing in the desert sandsthe sun so hot and bright
will turn so cold at night
and the moon will hide behind the clouds
all while standing in the desert sandsthe sand will sink beneath my feet
but I won't dare to movethe sand will sink beneath my feet
and I will give into defeatthe sand will sink so deep my knees
will be below the sandthe sand will sink so deep my waist
will be below the sandthe sand will sink so deep my chest
will be below the sandthe sand will sink so deep my head
will be below the sandone day I'll find myself in the desert sands
standing there,
just standing thereone day I'll find myself in the desert sands
and then I'll be, truly,
freeall while standing in the desert sands
