Michelle's POV
I woke up around 5.30 a.m the next morning and started getting ready for school.
I opened the door in the room I gave Marcus slightly and saw him peacefully sleeping. It turned out that we study in one school, did we mentioned? We even have our English classes together, but never really noticed each other.
I gently shaked his shoulder to wake him up.
"Marcus, wake up. We need to go to school." - I whispered. - "Alright, give me a second." - he replied half asleep."Come on, I don't want us to be late. I got a math test." - I said nervously.
"Okay, I'm coming, chill." - Marcus told me as he got up of bed.
I noticed that the bandage on his right hand was leaned in blood.
"Wait, hold on! Come with me in the bathroom, real quick." - we went in the bathroom and I removed the old bandage, cleaned the wound and put a new one.
He was staring at me the whole time. What was he thinking about?
Anyways, we got ready and walked to school together.
I went in math class as he went in science class.
During the break I went to my locker to get my geography books. While I was searching for them, that girl Madeline came to me and slammed the locker's door.
She's got blonde hair, green eyes, skinny good figure, and her height was probably about 5'8, not as me 5'1.
She's been bullying me so far for my height and face, but not that is the main reason. My ex boyfriend Brian cheated on me with her. They're a couple now.
You may be thinking right now shouldn't I hate her, not she me?
"Look, look who's here. Katie, come check this out. The short, ugly nerd decided to show up. I thought you were scared, kid." - she said turning to her best friend and laughing.
"What do you want again?! Can you just leave me alone?!" - I raised my tone.
"Hey, brat, don't talk to me like that!" - Madeline grabbed my forearm and pulled me closer to her. - "You're pathetic, you dwarf! Stay away from my boyfriend!" - she uttered in my ear while holding my left hand as hard as she could.
I looked in her eyes dismissively. We made frightening eye contact.
All of a sudden I felt other hand taking mine and pushing Madeline off me.
It was no one, but Marcus. He took my hand and stood in front of me.
"May I know what you're doing??" - he said.
"Who the hell are you? And why are you meddling where it's none of your business?!" - replied Maddie.
"It is my business, cause that's my girlfriend right here!" - Marcus said with his finger up.
"Huh, this boy is hilarious!" - Madeline responded, making fun of Marcus. - "You're not her freaking boyfriend, man! Get outta here, I'm tryna have a conversation, you clown!" - she added rudely.
"No, you get outta here! She doesn't wanna talk to you! And stop insulting, cause I got mouth too, you know that right?!" - he was furious.
Everyone that was in the hallway was like "Woooah!" They were all looking at the drama, since Maddie is the most popular girl in school.
"You're gonna regret that, cause I already texted my boyfriend, who is her ex, by the way!" - Maddie spat on us cheekily on the floor.
"Yo, we haven't done anything to you, chill!" - Marcus raised his tone as well, as she turned with her back on us.
"You will achieve nothing, by calling Brian here, cause you're both death to me! And you can't scare us, either!" - I cried out.
"We'll see about that!" - she was angry.
Brian came to us not so long after that and took Madeline's hand.
"What's going on? Who's f*cking bothering my girl?" - shouted Brian.
"Babe, I just said "Hey, what's up?" to Michelle and she told me to get away from her, then called her new boyfriend or something for no reason. They're both disrespecting me, do something!" - she obviously lied.
"What are you talking about, you liar?!" - Marcus inquired as he got closer to them.
"Hey, don't get closer to my girl! Who are you anyway?!" - Brian said.
"Babe, I'm going to the bathroom with Katie, I can't handle this anymore." - Maddie pretended to be the victim and left.
"I'm Michelle's boyfriend. Any problem with that?!"
"No way, you're her boyfriend. I'm not believing this one." - Brian was jealous.
"Did I ask you? I don't need your opinion, as long as you both leave Michelle alone, I'm good with that!" - Marcus stood up for me. It was romantic, not gonna lie.
"Seriously, Michelle? You fell that low? There was no one else, but that guy? He's ridiculous." - said Brian.
"Who are you to talk to her like that?" - asked Marcus.
"Me? No, who are you?! For real, Michelle, you could have had me, not that little shit." - Brian grabbed my hand, but not for too long.
"Get off me!" - I said frustrated of him touching me.
Marcus got his hand off me and put me behind himself.
"Yo, what are you doing, bro?! Don't touch her! Are you deaf or what?!" - Marcus told him.
"Chill, dude! I'm not tryna hurt her."
"Nah, back up, I'm not dealing with you any longer! Leave us alone or I'ma have to do something serious that should not happens." - Marcus uttered calmly.
"Okay, I'm forgiving you this time, cause you're obviously new in this school and you don't know what I'm capable of as the popular boy in school, but let it not be repeated, alright?" - Brian threatened him and started walking back.
"Alright, whatever. I don't care anyways and I've been in this school for five years, by the way." - Marcus cried out at him. Brian left.
I hugged Marcus as tight as I wanted.
"Such a wretch!" - he uttered quietly obviously talking about my ex.
"Thank you so much, they need to leave me alone!" - I said.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, it was a weird situation. I didn't wanna make you uncomfortable by telling them I'm your boyfriend..." - he said.
"No, it's okay. I'm sorry that I'm bringing you my own problems." - I replied.
We went through our classes for the day and headed off to home.
