Michelle's POV
I woke up in the nearly destroyed and wrecked car with smoke coming out of it. I felt dizzy and disoriented. I had got a wound on the right side of my head after the collision with the tree.
It was slightly bleeding, but it was nothing serious. As I regained consciousness and pulled myself together, I looked to my left only to see Marcus unconscious with his head on the steering wheel.
He must have hit his head on it because blood was pouring profusely down the right side of his head as well.
"Marcus? Marcus?! Are you okay?! Marcus!" - I yelled as I was shaking his shoulder.
I realized there was no point and I had no other choice but to ask for help.
I got out of the car and started shouting for help.
Plenty of cars were passing, but none of them really seemed to care that there might be someone injured.
"Help! Can anyone help me, please?!" - I even got on the road, but that changed nothing.
At this point I was helpless. I didn't have my phone either.
I went back to the car and opened Marcus's door.
"Marcus, wake up! I need you! I beg you, wake up! Don't leave me!" - I said through tears still disoriented.
I probably shouldn't have shaken him since he's injured and could be having an internal bleeding or something, but I wasn't able to think at that moment.
I looked around me, still crying but there was nothing that could help. I broke down mentally and fell on my knees on the ground.
I looked around once again and saw a signboard.
"Hold on, Marcus! I'll be back, okay?" - I went running to the gas station that was like half a mile away.
I entered and rushed to the cashier.
"Excuse me, I need to make a phone call as soon as possible! My boyfriend is injured. We got in a car accident. I gotta ask for help!" - I said.
"Yeah, here you go!" - the employee gave me a phone and I called 911.
I ran back to the place and went to check on Marcus. He was awake.
"Wh-what.. happened?" - he asked me.
I could see him barely keeping his eyes open. He put his hand on his head wound that was bleeding too much.
"Marcus, are you okay? Thank God, you're awake! You were unconscious, we crashed into that tree."
"We did? I don't remember anything after seeing that truck." - he barely uttered still confused and disoriented.
"Get out, get out of the car! Come on, take it easy! Don't rush, because you may have injuries." - I helped him to get out.
"Are you okay? I nearly killed us, I'm sorry." - Marcus told me.
"It's okay, I'm fine. Don't worry!" - I smiled.
I was basically freaking out the whole time.
After some time an ambulance showed up and took us to the nearest hospital.
They cleared the wound on my head and put a bandage. They examined me for internal injuries, but everything seemed fine.
I sat in the waiting room of the hospital to wait for Marcus.
I spent there about three hours.
"What's taking so long?" - I told myself as I sighed and looked at my watch.
Suddenly Ivonne came in the hospital and stood up in front of me.
I looked at her as I was furious.
"What? Are you not happy to see me? That definitely makes me upset." - she said.
I stood up from the chair and faced her.
"I think you're not happy to see me. What, were you expecting a funeral?" - I roasted her back.
"Actually no. If I thought it would be that effortless for me to get rid of that insect Marcus and you as well, would I be the person I am right now? I didn't mean to kill you. I just wanted you not to come to my baby boy's party. But you crashed his party, anyway. Lucas is parking the car at the moment."
"You're not gonna achieve anything by cutting people's brakes. What kind of a psycho does that?" - I inquired.
"I didn't ask for your advice!" - said Ivonne getting closer to me. I backed up. - "Oh, are you waiting for him? I would tell you to go home, because he'll probably not come back." - she added.
"You know nothing about what happened! But none of business, anyway." - I uttered.
"He could at any moment... as long as I wish for that, girl! I have power. Cutting your car's brakes was only a warning. And if you refuse to do what I tell you to, I'm gonna kill him! Is that clear?" - she told me.
"What are you talking about?!" - I asked.
"I'm telling that you're working for me from now on. You have two options: to work with me and do whatever I tell you, or you're gonna go to someone's funeral soon."
"What do you mean? That's a blackmail. I'm not doing that." - I said, but there was fear inside me.
"Okay, your choice, but keep in mind what I told you. I don't want you to regret it later, cause you can't bring someone back." - Ivonne was staring at me.
"I can literally send you to the police for murder attempt and death threats. You know what I'm doing it." - I uttered pretty confident.
Ivonne grabbed my hand as I tried to walk away from her.
"Do whatever you want, but know that I can get in Marcus' room each second. We're literally staying in front of his room." - she kept threatening me.
"I'm not falling for your nonsenses!" - I said.
Then Lucas came to us in a rush. He was concerned. Ivonne let go of my hand as she saw him.
"What happened?! Are y'all okay?! Where's Marcus?!" - he asked.
"Yeah, I'm good. Um, Marcus didn't have his seatbelt put and he was unconscious for a while. But I think he might be fine. We crashed forth with a tree." - I explained.
He was shocked and scared...
Happy New Year, Everyone! Y'all are amazing!
