Cyrus came back from the washroom and everyone kept eating their food in silence..
Michelle's POV
"Ok, what did I say? I didn't mean to offend him. He's being childish and disrespectful! Like, now we're leaving the table, where everyone is, just because we're mad and want to cry like a baby?! That's so immature and rude." - Cyrus decided to brake the awkward silence and defend himself.
"Yeah, that's what I'm saying, why does it gotta be getting like that? I just wanna have a peaceful and happy lunch with you guys." - said Lucas.
"For me, everyone has to get over the past and look to the future. We don't choose our fate and everyone struggles in life, we just need to learn how to forgive each other. And even though I don't know everyone sitting on this table, I know y'all are good people, but need to communicate better and talk out everything that's been bothering you those years." - uttered I.
"I feel that way too, y'all need to talk with Marcus and resolve the issue. He's as hurt as you are, trust me." - agreed Lucas.
"I guess, you're right, but how am I supposed to talk with him? It's not easy at all. He'll think he's being attacked by hints and stuff, when I don't mean to insult him. And he does have mental health issues and behavior issues ass well ever since mom and dad passed away." - responded Cyrus.
"No, he doesn't. And, I mean, you called him a hog, didn't you?" - I asked.
"Yeah, but not in bad way!"
"Michelle, you don't know the whole story. Marcus used to be dad and mom's favorite child, so he's probably spoiled and expects us to treat him like a prince or something. But that's not happening. They left him all the inheritance, me and Cyrus always used to help them. We just feel underappreciated and neglected. That's not fair at all." - added Darius.
"Yeah, but is that his fault? If that was your mom's will, why don't you just respect what she wanted to happen after her death?" - I kept.
"It is kinda his fault, because he never delighted to help us even when I was on the street five years ago and didn't have a home. That's why I moved to Chicago." - he replied.
"So didn't you, when mom and dad passed away you left for Australia and let us on fate's mercy. We were only 11. I basically raised Marcus, but you never asked if he's okay. You've been only phoning me." - Lucas told him.
"Because it's not fair how he was getting all my mom and dad's love! He was acting dumb and disrespectful towards me that time. I love you, Lucas, but how can you not be mad that all of our heritage is for him?" - Dari inquired, but Lucas just sighed and said "I don't know, I no longer care.".
As Ivonne was staying quiet the whole time I knew she was thinking of something.
Then Marcus showed up out of his room and started putting his shoes on and taking his jacked on the front door ready to leave. He didn't say anything to us.
"Yo! Where are you going? Come here, we gotta talk to you! Don't run from your problems!" - Darius uttered.
"What? What do you want from me now?!" - Marcus approached us.
"Well, first of all I'd like you to apologize for being disrespectful and leaving." - Darius told him.
"Cyrus literally doused me with water, why would I stay with wet hair and soaked clothes?! How does your sentence make sense?!" - he replied.
"Bro, it was an accident, chill!" - said Cyu.
"Yeah, sure, whatever..." - I could feel Marcus's sarcasm.
"We wanna make peace with you and leave the past behind. And we're willing to help you out by paying for a therapist, so you could bring your mental health to the normal again."
"A therapist?! So, am I crazy now?!" - I could see Marcus got upset and angry.
"Yeah, and I think we should tell each other what we think and what's that tension between us for. That time five years ago, I didn't have a home, then I found out about dad's properties, and that they're all yours, but you never told us about them. I was furious because of mom and dad's decision even though I knew you were their favourite child. Then I asked you if we can share them equally between us four, but you just cut me off. That's why I took a case." - said Dari.
"That's such a bullshit! What are you talking about?! Both Cyrus and you were doing drugs by that time and you know it very well! Mom and dad were disappointed and frustrated of you! Did y'all notice that mom was sick?! No, right? She had a cancer! And I was the only one that knew about it!" - uttered Marcus with his voice shaking and tears in his eyes.
"What? What are you talking about?!" - asked Dari but everyone stood up and looked at Marcus in shock.
"You were doing drugs, and Lucas had a bad depression so she didn't wanna make him worry! That's why she only told me! I was taking care of her ever since I learned about it! The doctors gave mom an year, and when she started getting worse, she told dad! They committed suicide together! They caused the car accident on purpose, did you not get it?!" - tears were falling down his cheeks.
"What?" - Lucas inquired confused.
"Nah, you're lying!" - said Cyrus.
"I never said I wanted the freaking properties, okay!? I just didn't want to give them to someone who disappointed mom and didn't even find out she was sick! That was her will and I'm not breaking my promise to her! How would I look myself in the mirror if I do?!" - he shouted.
I got emotional by all the pain Marcus had gone through and he still has such a good heart.
"Bro, why didn't you tell us?! What's wrong with you?! Why would you hide it?! We could have find a good doctor!" - uttered Darius making a strong eye contact with him. Marcus nodded his head for 'no' and looked out the window.
"You don't understand. It was incurable. I swear I fell on my knees and cried in front of her, just to make her tell you she was dying or to look for medical help abroad, but that never happened. She gave up." - replied Marcus.
"Are you s-serious, Marcus? That's what you've been hiding from us?" - asked Lucas as he was crying hard.
Ivonne embraced him.
"I'm sorry. I might have done a mistake, but....I just wanted to keep my promise! I'm letting you know that I'll transfer all the properties to you, Cyrus and Lucas's names soon. I no longer need to have them, since I broke my promise. I hope y'all forgive me..." - uttered Marcus and left the house by slamming the door.
"Marcus!" - Darius cried out almost crying, but he was already gone.
We were all speechless and looking to the ground of shame.
It was raining outside. It was kinda depressing environment.
I took my jacket, put my shoes on and got out to look for Marcus, because I was worried.
