Anthony was that usual guy who would have every girl around his finger, it didn't matter how, as long as he could gain their trust just to dump them a week after. He also was highly judgmental, for example Chiyo's last name 'Suzuki' was the name of a car manufacturer. What confused Chiyo was that he couldn't find any other faults about her, like how she was so 'old fashioned'. But it was true that she was interested in cars, she enjoyed how they worked and the history behind them.
"What gonna try to fix that rickety Suzuki truck of yours?" He asked, "Suzuki truck?" Chiyo asked confused, "Yeah that old rickety truck of yours." he replied. Chiyo paused, her mom didn't own a Suzuki but owned a Toyota Tacoma. "I don't have a Suzuki truck, but a Toyota Tacoma." Anthony stood in shock before embarrassment caught up to him in the face. What was funny was that he was taking the same car class she was.
Anthony went away to his friends who had been snickering as he came over to them. "Well I bet that was embarrassing for him." Irene said laughing, Chiyo had a look of question on her face. "What do you mean, I just used logic." she said, "Yeah but you two both have the same elective, why does he not know this stuff?" she asked "well he just got into the school about two months ago, so it's possible he just missed a lot of the class." Chiyo said "Don't side with him, he bullies you!" Irene scolded, "I know, it's just that simple logic." Chiyo said.
Irene paused before she said "Don't tell me your crushing on your bully. It's just like all the stories in the books I read." she said gushing. Chiyo looked at her oddly, she didn't have a crush on the boy, in fact he was pretty rude to her all the time, but she was using simple logic for his saying that 'she didn't have a Suzuki truck' like how both the Tacoma and the Equator looked pretty similar.
"Chiyo, you better not be thinking about him." Irene said "What, why would I-?" Chiyo asked. "Because, you think too hard about a bunch of things, wondering why he said the wrong truck is one of those moments." Irene said. Chiyo stood there before finally asking "How did you know I was thinking about that moment?"
"It was on your face, besides you stopped answering me." she said. Chiyo looked at Irene before giggling and giving her goodbyes to her and walking to her house.
...
Chiyo's house was a small house on the outskirts of the small town they lived in, her Japanese mom had made it as close as what she grew up with in Japan. Outside there was a small shrine, as well as a koi fish pool that her mom had made herself the best she could. Chiyo walked through the door putting her shoes on the rack by the door before entering into the small house. Her mom was in the living room with a crochet set making a large blanket.
"Hello Chiyo." she said looking up from her project. "Hi mom." Chiyo said, before escaping to her room. Chiyo looked around her room before she exhaustedly threw herself on her bed. Placing her arm over her eyes as she fell asleep from sudden exhaustion.
