Chiyo stood in front of a bookshelf, knowing that she couldn't find anything on the curse, but maybe the portals themself. "Excuse me, what are you looking for, you've been staring at that bookshelf for a couple minutes." a librarian said, "oh i've just been wanting to find out more on portals." Chiyo said. "Portals? Well we have them in the fiction side of the library, not the non fiction side of the library." she said pointing at the non fiction sign that was on the spine of each book. "Oh, i didn't notice that, sorry." Chiyo said sheepishly

Chiyo sat down, with her books. Though they were fiction, she could probably find out things about portals, how they work and why there's always a curse with them. One book stood out to her, it had a leather cover and the title was inside the book. "I'd like to check this book out please." She said to the librarian.

They passed her the book, and Chiyo thanked her. As she walked out into the light, a certain red headed figure walked up to her. "Well, I didn't think I'd find you here." Anthony said, he looked at the book in her arms before saying, "I'd never think that you'd read a crusty book." He said, "well I didn't think I'd see you at the library, the second graders section is to your right." Chiyo said. "Darn, that hit me right here." he said pointing to his heart and falling to the ground. "Why are you acting so nice to me, its not normal." Chiyo said, backing away from the over dramatic boy.

"Rumor has it you disappeared so that you wouldn't have to go to school, it's everywhere and to be honest i want to know why you weren't there, because your mom didn't know and you didnt tell your best friend." he said "i'm not telling you anything, besides i barely know you." Chiyo said, trying to walk away, "Well I really want to know why you're being so secretive about this." he said, inching closer to the girl. "I bet it has to do with that book, I mean can't you just read on your phone?" he asked, "i can, but i wanted a physical book to read." Chiyo said, stepping back from Anthony. "What a poor excuse." Anthony said, scoffing.

This set Chiyo off, her fist was raised and pulled back as she slammed it into the boy's nose, a crunch erupting from it. Anthony staggered backward from the force of the punch, but enough of a gap for Chiyo to make her escape to the nearby cafe. Anthony held his nose in pain, pulling his hand away, seeing the red stain of blood on his hand. "That little-" he said before he cut himself off, seeing the flash of a gray jacket going around a corner quickly.

Once Chiyo made it into the cafe, she ordered a drink and sat down in one of the booths. Opening her book she saw the book was set up like any other book she had read, but the copyright wasn't there, and the language was unlike one she had ever seen. Looking at the spine to see if it was a library book, she saw it was still there. "What the-" she was cut off when she saw a familiar figure in the window of the cafe motioning to her, before leaving and going through the front door. "Look I'm sorry, I scared you, it's just a bit weird not seeing you at school." said Anthony.

Chiyo tried to get up, but Anthony took hold of her wrist, "Look I just want to talk to you about it." he said. Chiyo looked at him as if he had grown another head. "Talk about what." she said, "Look i know that you have a secret." he paused looking around then saying quietly, "that you passed through a portal to another world."
