The bone looking parts are its outer skeleton, it's wings are connected to its legs, and the part on it's chest is basically a green flame.
The larger the the flame is the longer the dragon will live, the smaller it is the less time the dragon will live.
It's not like a future telling thing it's more so how much longer they will live with their current health the size of the flame is almost constantly changing.
