HENDRIX'S POV

"It seems that everything is in order for you, you do have to go and observe and question the Potter boy with an auror to prove that his guardian isn't doing his job," Gryh said as he handed me a piece of parchment. "Thank you Gryh," I said as I stood bowing to him again, "May your gold forever flow King Gryh," I smiled, Gryh tilted his head slightly, "May your enemies fall at your feet Lord Hendrix."

I eagerly left the bank with a large smile on my face. I tilted my head to the goblins as I left. I was in such a hurry that I practically ran over a child on the steps. Tumbling to the ground my first instinct was to ensure that the child was alright. I turned to him and was surprised to see a gumbling Draco Malfoy. "Are you alright?" I asked as I stood reaching out my hand to help him. "I'm sure he's fine," his father said as he batted my hand away and wrenched his child off of the ground.

I looked the Malfoy Lord up and down. "I apologize I was in a rush and didn't see him. I hope you're alright," I sighed as I gently smiled at the nine year old. The boy looked at me warily "I am fine thank you," he sniffed. I turned to his father with a raised brow, "You should teach your ward some humility, it might do him some good one day," I sighed as I began to be on my way again. "What is that supposed to mean? How dare someone like you try and tell me how to raise my ward," Malfoy senior sneered as he stepped in front of me. "It means that you should teach your son to be unlike you. You are pompous and arrogant despite your cowardes, you should be teaching your ward to be better than you, then maybe he won't grow up to be a carbon copy of the pathetic man standing in front of me," I sneered at him. He looked shocked at me as he sputtered for a moment, "Also you should be proud to be taking criticism from 'someone like me'." With that I pushed past him with a wink.

I made my way to the apparating spot, eager to get to the ministry and get an auror to come with me. The faster I can get to Harry the better. I apparated straight to the ministry surprised to see that I was able to apparate straight in. "You're extremely powerful now, if you really wanted to you could apparate into Azkaban," Mortem seemingly whispered in my ear. "Isn't that a bit much?" I thought back, Mortem chuckled. I made my way to the receptionist and smiled kindly at her. " I'm here to fetch an auror for an observation," she smiled back at me as she nodded. I watched as she quickly wrote down a note then tapped it with her wand, sending it flying throughout the ministry. "Somebody will join you shortly if you'd like to sit somewhere and wait," she smiled.

"I don't have a wand." I directed the thought to Mortem, I couldn't claim the wand with the phoenix feather seeing as that belonged to Harry Potter, and I feel as though it would be extremely suspicious if I went to go get a new one. "That can be your next stop. You'll have to confront the old geezer on your own. The wand has already stopped responding to him and he's noticed, it should be easy to take it back," Mortem whispered. I sighed as I thought for a moment, "Maybe I should just do that now, I don't want to leave Harry alone," I responded.

"Lord Hendrix?" a strong feminine voice said from above me. I looked up to see Amelia Bones standing before me. "Yes Ma'am, are we ready to depart," she sighed as she nodded. "That we are, I'm afraid that you'll have to apparate us, for you see I have no idea where the boy is being kept. I must say that I'm surprised that you know where he is. Dumbledore made sure that only he knew, seeing as he's the man you're about to take to court," I smiled at her as I squared my shoulders. "How I know where the boy is is a secret, though I can assure you that I have every good intention in making him my ward," I assured her as I held out my arm to her. She warily took my arm and I instantly whisked us away to a private corner of Little Whining.

When we landed Bones quickly casted a disillusionment and notice-me-not charms on us. We quickly set off to number 4 on Privet Drive, though we couldn't have timed it more perfectly. We made it right in time to see Petunia drag Harry out and shout at him to do a better job at keeping her flowers blooming. I looked at Bones with furrowed brows only to see that her face was already stormy. "We need to observe a bit longer I'm afraid," I sighed as I placed my hand in front of her to stop her from intervening. She practically growled as she pushed my arm away.

We watched as Harry continued to tend to the garden, I watched as Harry talked to himself as he continued to pull weeds. We watched as Dudley came out of the house, he smiled and sprinted towards Harry. I didn't know the little whale could move so fast but honestly I shouldn't have been surprised since I lived through his torments. We watched as Dudley kicked Harry as hard as he could, sending poor Harry flying. I took an involuntary step forward, Bones' hand striking out immediately to stop me.

"I think we've observed enough it's time for us to question the boy," I breathed trying my damn hardest not to sound strained. Bones grumbled something in agreement. We canceled the spells and began to approach the house, being noticed immediately by the baby whale. He screeched and began to scurry away most likely to go find his friends. Harry watched us approach the door in awe, I smiled at him softly. When we got to the door Bones was the one to knock. We waited for several moments before she tried to knock again. However right as she was raising her fist again the door opened.

"Good day ma'am, I am Hendrix Peverell and this is Amelia Bones. Can you spare a moment of your time?' I smiled at Petunia Dursley as she looked at us warily. "My husband isn't home at the moment," she said instead of inviting us in. I softened my smile slightly, "That's alright ma'am, I'm certain that you can answer our questions," I stuck my foot out slightly to stop the door if she decided to close it, for her face was already souring. "Alright so be it," she sniffed as she opened the door just a bit wider for us. "We'll be needing the boy Harry Potter with us I'm afraid," Bones said as she stepped into the house. Petunia sighed as she glared over at Harry, "Boy these people have questions for you."

Harry quickly scurried into the house and followed us to the sitting room. Petunia sat down on one of the loveseats and motioned for Harry to sit next to her with a crook of her finger. I felt my heartbreak slightly as little Harry happily sat on the sofa, looking all too pleased to be able to sit there. "Ms. Dursley we would like to know if young Harry here has ever been exposed to our culture," Bones asked as she squared her shoulders, the muggle scowled at us as she sniffed, "Of course I didn't expose him," she scowled as she shifted. "Has Albus Dumbledore ever visited him?" she asked this time, "Not that I know of, he just dropped him here and made him my problem," she hissed as she glared at the boy. I sighed as I relaxed into the uncomfortable sofa. "May I speak with Harry alone as Ms. Bones asks you more questions?" the horse of a woman waved her hand dismissively as she turned to Amelia with a scowl.

"Come along Harry, let's speak on the patio," I smiled. Harry eagerly nodded as he followed me out to the patio, I sat on yet another uncomfortable chair and offered one to Harry. He gleefully jumped into the seat looking all too happy. "Harry, have you ever been visited by anyone?" I already knew the answer, he shyly shook his head no. "Are you happy here? You can answer honestly I promise not to tell," I spoke softly as the child nervously looked at me. "No sir. I'm not happy, but that's ok, I still get to help my aunt and uncle and I'm able to go to school," he said.

"Do you know about magic?" I asked, again already knowing the answer, Harry furrowed his brows at me before shaking his head, "Sir, magic doesn't exist!" he exclaimed. "No Harry, it's real. Not only is it real but it's a big part of who you are," I smiled. This only seemed to cause Harry more confusion. I held out my hand and summoned my patronus, being pleasantly surprised to see a raven instead of my stag, which caused a little bit of devastation to appear. Though Harry seemed to be enthralled with it nonetheless. "Oh my," he breathed.

I smiled and allowed the raven to fly about us. Harry watched in awe as it continued to soar. "I plan on taking you from this place, if you let me. I can teach all about magic and its culture," I smiled. Harry eagerly nodded, "I would like that," he smiled. "I just need to prove something first, then I can take you home," I said as I gently patted his head. He sighed and nodded, "Alright," he smiled.
