HENDRIX'S POV
Once back at the manor I instantly went to the couch and picked up my book, “Sirius I must go see my old friend,” I told him, he sighed as he plopped down onto the couch, “Alright,” he sniffed. I apparated into the ritual room, I wanted Sirius to think that I was meeting a person, not resurrecting one. I sighed as I realized my stupid mistake, I still needed to get the soul off of Quirrell, I quickly began to pack everything that I would need. I’ll just apparate into the school, get the soul with the rest then perform the ritual once I get home. I sighed as I rubbed the bridge of my nose, this is going to be easier said than done, I have a feeling that Quirrell is going to make it difficult.
I sighed, I already felt a headache coming on, I grabbed the bag that everything was packed in and apparated. I apparated straight into the tunnel that leads into Honeydukes, I began my walk with my head held high, casting a quick tempus I realized I didn’t have time to do all that I wanted, I would have to wait. I groaned as I continued to walk, I’ll just wait till he’s alone then. I’ll have all night to pull the soul off then. I finally made it to the end of the tunnel, before I entered the corridor on the other side I sat cross-legged and closed my eyes.
I focused and felt for the shadows cast by the firelight, I took hold of the shadows allowing me to sense whether or not there was someone there. This was another perk that I had gotten in being the Master of Death, I could peer through the shadows. Once I deemed it safe to come out I quickly slipped out and carefully made my way through the corridors. Every once in a while I would shut my eyes and seek through the shadows again, I went on like this until I made it to Quirrell’s office, of course I almost had several close calls, but nonetheless I wasn’t spotted.
I seeked into the shadows before opening the door. It wasn’t surprising that the room was empty, other than the few animals within the room, considering that everyone was now at dinner. I made myself comfortable in the seat at his desk, I closed my eyes again and searched through the shadows to find the Great Hall, I focused my sight and watched, the first years had already been sorted and everyone was thoroughly in their meals. I searched through until I found who I was looking for, Quirrell. Like in my last life, he was sitting next to Severus talking to him, every once in a while I would see him slice his eyes over to where I can only assume Harry was sitting.
I looked around trying to find Harry, I scanned through the entire Gryffindor table and found nothing, instantly I looked towards the SLytherine table and low and behold there he was sitting. He was sitting in between Draco and if I remember correctly Blaise Zabini, across from them was Carbbe, Goyle, and I think Theodore Nott. I smiled fondly as I watched Harry excitedly talk to his new friends. I sighed fondly before looking back at my target. He was silently watching Harry now, then I had a thought, I glared down at Severus as he silently watched Harry too.
I smiled at the thought I just had and pulled myself out of the shadows, I quickly stood and began to make my way to my new destination, like before I checked every corridor before I continued. I hid myself down in one of the many winding corridors within the dungeons. It was there that I waited, after all I have all night to deal with Quirrell, I find this more pressing right now. I stayed there for quite some time, thankfully I finally heard footsteps. I wrapped the shadows around me and watched as the students passed by me, it was only a matter of time before Snape passed.
I didn’t have to wait long, the man came storming down the hall in his usual fashion, I quickly reached out and wrenched him into the shadows with me, taking us into the shadow realm where Mortem resided, a place where time worked differently. I quickly disguised myself, shrouding the shadows around me like a cloak. I corrupted my voice to make it deep and booming, making it scratchy. Snape looked around in brief confusion before turning on me with his wand drawn.
