HENDRIX'S POV

Today is the last day. Tomorrow Harry leaves for Hogwarts. I had arranged for the Malfoys to come over early in the morning so that we could all leave together. After reassuring Harry that not only I but also the twins and Sirius would help him sneak in Ena, since he was too upset to leave her alone at home, though I made him swear to keep her in one of the enchanted cages that the twins gave him. Right now he’s in his room packing with the help of Nifty. I however am down stairs with Padfoot sleeping at my feet reading a book.

Padfoot’s head perked up and a moment later I also heard the stomping footsteps coming my way, I looked up to see Harry hurriedly making his way down stairs, “I can’t find Ena!” he exclaimed. Padfoot instantly jumped up and ran, “Last I saw of her she was taking a nap in the sun,” I said as I went back to my book, he instantly ran to find his dragon. Unsurprisingly dragons are very similar to cats, they just have a more aggressive attitude and breathe fire. Though everything else about them is purely cat like. Maybe cats are descended from dragons and not a large cat.

“I found her! She was terrorizing Padfoot!” Harry shouted as he went back to his room. I chuckled as I turned the page. “He’s definitely your ward,” Sirius huffed as he came back into the room, “More like he’s Potter’s son, don’t you think?” I said as I glanced at him. He thought for a moment, “No this cruelty is more on the level of Lily,” he sighed, “Funny, I never specified which Potter,” Sirius was silent for a moment, “Shut it,” he grumbled. I rolled my eyes at him and went right back to reading. “So what do you plan on doing while Harry’s not here?” he asked as he flopped down. “I’m going to visit an old friend. Then I’m going to finally fill my seat in the Wizengamot, though I do think that you should probably fill your seat too,” I said as I kicked him. He sighed, “Yes well… fine. Does this friend happen to be… oh you know, more than a friend?” he asked as he wiggled his eyebrows at me suggestively.

I glared at him as I harshly shoved his shoulder. He laughed like a child, “So, describe this old friend to me. What’s he like?” He asked as he laid on his stomach, I raised my brow at him, “You’re an insufferable drama queen,” I rolled my eyes and sighed, “He’s a bit frustrating honestly,” I said anyways. Sirius sighed as he laid there in thought for a moment, “What are you thinking about you sad dog?” I asked as I sat my book down. “I’m just kind of sad that our little Harry is old enough to go to Hogwarts… they grow up so fast. Though I feel like we both got cheated… we didn’t actually get to see him grow up,” he sighed. “I think what really matters is that we’re here for him now. At least now we can watch him grow into a fine young man,” I said as I pushed him off of me. “You’re right. Thank you Hendrix,” he smiled, he sighed as he plopped onto the floor.

Nifty popped in then, barely sparing Sirius a glance. “The goodbye dinner for the young Master is ready,” she said proudly. She proudly rocked on her feet as I stood, “Please go get Harry, Sirius and I are going to the dining room, thank you Nifty,” I smiled as I made a summoning motion with two fingers, SIrius began to sweep across the floor after me, he let out a strangled cry as he tried to stand back up. Only to instantly slip and fall back onto his arse, still being dragged along.

Sirius sat complaining and rubbing his backside as he sat at the table. Harry sat laughing and teasing him as Sirius continued to complain, going in great detail about the descent down the stairs. “Sirius, it is unbecoming to rub your backside at the table,” I scolded. He glared at me like a petulant child. Just then the food popped into existence and with it the elves. They sat themselves at the table happily, each one waiting patiently for the lord of the house to take the first bite.

“Harry, we all wanted to do something nice for your last dinner here until Christmas, so we all thought a very large family dinner was in order and a group gift for you,” I said as I snapped my fingers, a big box appeared in front of Harry, “It took as a moment to be able to find it, but eventually we did, we had to call in several favors,” I said as Harry began to open. His eyebrows furrowed slightly when he saw what was in it, he gently pulled out an enormous book, it didn’t have a lot of pages, it was just a very large book. He opened it and his breath caught, “This is… this is my family tree,” he breathed.

“I had to call in several favors and we had to do quite a bit of restoration, it was really a group effort really. I did the digging and asked for several favors, Sirius paid the price, and the elves restored it perfectly… Do you like it?” I asked, he nodded silently, “I love it… thank you so much,” he tearily smiled. I smiled and took a bite of my food while everyone else instantly dug in. “Thank you so much everyone,” Harry said sweetly as he continued to eat.

It didn’t take long for the table to fill with joyous laughter and reminiscing, Sirius bringing up fond memories of him ruining Harry’s lessons and tutoring sessions. The elves every once in a while spoke of a fond memory of Harry helping in the kitchen or the garden, doing fun projects with them. I smiled at all of them, I was about done with my dinner and was almost ready for dessert but I refused to say anything because of how much fun everyone was having, “How about dessert?” Sirius asked as he took a swig of wine that I had no idea where he got it. Nifty snapped her fingers and dessert appeared in front of us all.

I tucked Harry in as he dreamily stared up into the canopy of the bed, I had enchanted it per his request to look like the ceiling of Hogwarts’ Great Hall ceiling. “Are you excited?” I asked as I looked down at him, he smiled at me widely, “Yeah, I can’t wait to see what house I’ll be in, I’m hoping for Gryffindor like my parents,” he sighed happily. I chuckled at him, “You know, Sirius and I don’t care what house you get in. We’ll be proud no matter what, as long as you’re happy in that house,” I said as I gently patted his head. He nodded slightly, still smiling widely. “I’m happy to make more friends too. I can’t wait to meet Draco’s godfather, Draco’s always bragging that he’s an absolute genius in potions,” he excitedly sighed as his smile grew. “Goodnight Harry, I’ll see you in the morning,” I said as I hugged him.

“Where are they, it’s almost time for us to go,” Lucius said as he paced in front of the fireplace, Ciss was sat next to me, gently sipping on a cup of tea, “They’re enacting Draco’s plan dear, give him time,” she said before taking another sip. Lucius sighed in frustration as he continued  to pace. I was all too happy when Sirius flood in and ran straight into Lucius, Siius blinked at him then looked at us with raised brows, “What’s got your knickers in a twist,’ he asked before looking back at me.

“Dear cousin, how are you doing? Still dealing with the husband?” he asked as he came over to the couch and plopped down next to me. “Everything is well, my husband is beginning to become a bit paranoid, he’s too worried about Draco honestly,” Ciss sighed as she took another sip. We all heard the tall tail sign of feet clattering down the steps, all of us turned to see the two boys run up to the door then stopped, they then seemed to collect themselves a little bit and walked into the room like perfect little heirs.

“Are you boys ready now?” I asked, they both nodded eagerly, “You have Hedwig? You have Ena? You have everything you need for them both and yourself?” I asked Harry. “Yes, yes, and yes,” Harry nodded. “Draco, what about you? Have everything you need?” Ciss asked this time, “Yes mother, Nifty has our stuff ready at the front door,” Draco said as he tried to seem patient. “Alright then let’s get going everyone,” Sirius said as he stood and stretched, Lucius helped Ciss up and we all made our way to the front door. Sirius grabbed the trunks and I grabbed the animals. Lucius and Ciss aparated with the boys. We all appeared at the train station, it was busy, I checked the time we still had 10 minutes.

I pulled Harry into me and gave a soft hug, “Remember, no matter what we’ll always be proud of you,” I smiled as I patted his shoulder he eagerly nodded, he was quickly pulled into Sirius who hugged him much harder and for much longer, “Do me a favor and cause some mischief little Ri. Keep a close eye on Ena, okay?” he said as he pulled away from him. We both patted him on the shoulder, both of us giving him one last hug before urging him onto the train, “Have fun, and be good. Please write to me at least once a month, we’ll both miss you so much,” I whispered, Sirius nodded in agreement with teary eyes. Harry nodded with a large smile, “I’ll write as soon as I’m able,” he said as he pulled away and began to pull his stuff onto the train.

Sirius began to wave as soon as he spotted Harry, I started waving as soon as I saw the train start to move away. I could clearly see that Harry was sitting with Draco and the twins happily so I wasn’t at all worried about him. I could also very clearly see Ena on Fred's shoulder. I stopped waving as soon as I knew that Harry couldn’t see me anymore, Sirius however kept waving and crying until I apparated us away. I prayed to the gods that Harry have an uneventful year, I prayed that he would be just Harry.
