A girl walked quietly down the hot pavement, her shoes in hand. The sun beat down on her white hair, it's warmth making it's way to her neck.
Kids stared at her with smirks splayed across their mouths, while a few let chuckles escape. Harumi knew they were laughing at her wet sandy state, which only made her slightly more angry.
Her so called 'friends' thought it would be funny to push her into the lake, then take off. So now she had no ride, and was forced to tramp home soaked.
She let out an aggravated sigh as the girl furiously kicked a pebble, sending it flying. She watched it land in the grass near the lake. The water looked undeniably refreshing and was tempting for any person passing by to take a quick dip.
Unless you were forcibly pushed into it, then abandoned shortly after.
"WATCH OUT!!"
The girl focused her attention back to where she was headed, and more than glad that she did. At that same moment, a bike came swerving ahead of her. She quickly dove to the right, just narrowly avoiding it.
The bike and it's rider however, went straight to the tree and collided head first with it. Harumi let out a small gasp as she sat up from the spot.
She half hoped that the rider was alright. But the other half only thought about how it served them right for not looking where they were going. 'But don't forget you weren't exactly looking either.' she thought to herself.
Despite the ongoing battle in her mind, Harumi walked over to the tall pine tree, and the now crumpled bike. A blond haired boy sat next to it, rubbing a newly formed bruise on his forehead.
"Are you alright?" She asked nervously as she held out her hand. The boy looked up, revealing his bright emerald eyes. His smile complemented them perfectly.
"Y-Yeah I'm fine!" He quickly stuttered as he took my hand. "What about you?"
"I'm alright, but might I ask why you weren't looking where you were going?" The girl demanded, anger slightly evident in her voice. The boy nervously laughed as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Sorry, my brother tried to give me a 'boost' and I ended up loosing control." He admitted. Harumi glanced in the direction he came, and noticed a boy dressed in a red T-shirt. He had his hands behind his back and whistled while he rocked on the balls of his feet.
She let out an exasperated sigh. Boys. Always doing reckless things. Harumi turned her attention back to the Blondie and grimaced.
"Follow me, lets get you an ice pack for your bruise." She gently grabbed the boy's hand, then started leading him to a nearby ice cream shop.
The town they lived in was a small beachy place, where basically everybody knew everybody. Most people walked instead of drove, leaving a more friendly and open environment.
Harumi lead the boy into the shop and waved to the owner as he greeted her.
"Ahh! Harumi! I was wondering when you would show up- eh- what happened to you? And who's the kid?" He asked while adding a mountain of whipped cream to a milkshake.
"I got pushed into the lake. And he..." Harumi looked at him, waiting for him to say his name. He stumbled over his words as he corrected himself.
"Lloyd Gar- I mean S-Smith."
"Right, well Lloyd here, crashed into a tree while riding his bike." The white haired girl said as they both took seats at the counter.
The ice cream shop was an old retro 1950s style, like most of the town's shops. That's what made the place popular for tourism, every person in Ninjago loves the old feel to it. The checkered floor and long counter with red stools really made the place feel welcoming.
