"Hello?" There was a small pause, blabbering comes from the other line.
"Yeah, I'll be there soon" I paused once again.
"No, I just left for the airport" a sigh. "Yes. I'll be fine, don't worry."
The call ended as I stepped on the mat at the entrance of the airport.
"One ticket for Oxford, England?"
"$135" The receptionist spoke in a quick and hushed tone.
I fumbled with pulling my wallet from my back pocket and handing her the debit card.
She handed me it back, "Have a nice flight." I nodded and took my debit card and ticket from her.
I threw the one suitcase I had on the baggage belt and walked towards security. I put my backpack in the box and took my sandals off handing them my passport and ticket while taking my phone and wallet out of my pocket and shoving them in the box.
I walked through the scanner, thankfully with no beeps, and got my stuff back and walked through the terminal to board the flight.
"Have a nice flight!" Someone called after me.
"thanks," I mumbled to myself, pulling the straps of my backpack further up on my shoulder, both of them on one, making it easier to carry.
My phone rang loudly and vibrated at the same time, making it hard to concentrate on walking and not running into someone. I cursed beneath my breath as I almost ran into people.
"Sorry!" I constantly said that word as I walked.
As soon as I stepped on the plane and arrived at my seat. I pulled my phone from my pocket to see what I had missed. 'Missed call from Mommy 💝'
I sighed, unlocking my phone to call her back.
"Hello?" Her loud voice rung through my end and I pulled the phone away from my ear.
I cringed slightly before I spoke. "Hey. Cool your voice mom. Please"
"Sorry honey! You know how hard it is to tell if I'm to loud or to quiet!" My mother exclaimed, rambling on and on.
"Lily?" I heard another voice call from my mothers end.
"Uh... Yes? S-speaking" I said with hesitation.
"it's just me! Your father" a hearty laugh echoed through the speakers and I smiled.
"Hi Dad."
"So you'll be here soon right?"
"Yeah. Soon."
"Alright. I love you."
"I love you too. M'Bye"
