Chapter 3: HIM

Jungkook's POV.

It was almost midnight, I was standing  by the window looking up at the moon. It was going to be a full moon in few days. Jk was reckless with the moon already shining brightly in the night sky. We both were yearning for our mate.  Thinking about our mate, my thoughts went back to the moment when I hugged Taehyung in the hallway, his body fitting into mine perfectly just like two pieces of a puzzle. It was such a great feeling, my mood was lifted instantly. And once I breathed in his calming musk scent, Jk instantly calm down and all the built-up tension I had for days gone in seconds. I never had my stress released that fast before in my life.

But it was also sad at the same time thinking it was the only hug I get to have with Taehyung. It broke me knowing that after midnight he would find his mate and he will forever belong to someone else.

I looked up at the moon once again praying to the moon goddess like everyday, to find my mate. I could not wait anymore.

I was heading towards my bed when a scent hit me making me stopped in my track. I shut my eyes inhaling the scent deeply. Musk, vanilla and a hint of pineapple, it was heavenly. My feet were already stepping towards the scent. I know exactly what it was. Jk stirred trying to overtake but I control him, I don't know what he would do if he was in control.

I ran down the staircase and the scent was coming from the Alpha chambers. I continued to run and just when I turned around the corner, I stopped seeing the person standing in front of me.

"Taehyung?" I mumbled to myself.

The scent was overwhelming by now and this was my new favourite scent.

'MATE!' Jk howled with joy.

"Oh goddess!!" I was in the state of euphoria. Moon goddess had finally granted my wish and my mate was Taehyung, the boy whom I couldn't stop thinking about for days. I was in tears, I was blissed out.

I sighed and a smile grew on my face as I slowly stepped towards him. But then I frowned when he started to step back shaking his head.
"Taehyung?" I called but he seemed so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't hear me.

"Taehyung?" I called him again getting closer. I couldn't wait anymore to hold him and to tell him how I felt for him.
But he turned around and ran off. My eyes widened in shock, I was so confused. Doesn't he want me?

'FOLLOW MATE.' Jk growled breaking my thoughts. My feet started moving forward following my mate's scent.

"Taehyung!"

"Taehyung!"

'Something is not right.' Jk whimpered. Then he was howling feeling the rejection. And being a trueblood Jk was ready to claim our mate seeing our mate's reaction.

'Calm down Jk, we will find out whatever is going on.' I said trying to calm Jk but my heart was crushed too. Why did he reacted that way?

'Let me take over!' Jk was scratching to let out.

'He already seemed scared Jk, let's not ruin this.' We just found our mate after waiting for so long, I didn't want to ruin it. I took a deep breath trying to calm myself telling myself that it was fine.

'I will not completely take over, just let me follow him, it will be faster.' Jk expressed. And he was right. So I let him.

We need to find him. We need to know what was so wrong that he had to run away from us.

'Just don't scare him.' I said to Jk before I felt my bones starting to break and click and then I shifted.
