Chapter 6

Sam had been divorced for three months. He was doing his best to move on with his life. Everyone was in Chicago for Double Or Nothing. Lucas flew out to watch the show. He was backstage with Hayley. Sam was walking passed them.

"What's up Sam?" Lucas asked.

"Not much."

"Hayley told me about things not working out with Priscilla." "I'm sorry."

"Thanks." "Looking back I think it was for the best." "Good luck tonight." He said to Hayley.

"Thank you." She turned to Lucas. "I have to get changed They kissed and she went to change

After her match she went backstage. Sam was drinking a water.

"Good job Hayley." He said.

"Thanks, you to."

After the show Hayley and Lucas were in there hotel room. They were sitting on the couch.

"I want to have a baby."

"Maybe someday but not now."

"Why?"

"My career is just now taking off."

"I would take care of it."

"Not right now." "I'm tired, I'm going to bed." She got up and started heading towards the bedroom. Lucas was right behind her. He grabbed her by the arm and slammed her against the wall.

"You're such a selfish bitch!" He shouted. "Only thinking about yourself!" He smacked her so hard she fell to the ground. He'd never hit her before. He left.

When she got up and looked in the bathroom mirror, she noticed she had a black eye. She went to the ice machine to get some ice for it. Just as it was starting to fill up Sam came around the corner.

"Oh my god." He said shocked when he saw her face. "What happened?"

"It happened during my match."

"No it didn't." "That bastard." "Where is he?"

"I don't know." "He left."

"We need to go to the police."

"No." She said quickly. "I don't want anyone to know Sam." She started to cry. He hugged her.

"It's ok Hayley."

They went back to Sam's room and were sitting on the couch.

"Is this the first time?"Sam asked.

"To this extant, yes." "He's grabbed me and yelled at me before but he's never hit me."

"You need to leave him Hayley."

"I can't." "He's the only one that's ever loved me." "He's the only one who ever will love me."

"Is that the bullshit he tells you?" "That's not true Hayley." "If someone really loves you, they'd never abuse you in any way."

"If I leave him I have no one."

"You know you deserve better." "I want you to stay here tonight." "I'll sleep on the couch."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

She hugged him. "Thank you."
