Hayley woke up the next morning. She can smell coffee brewing. She got up. Sam was at the kitchen table.
"Morning." She said.
"Good morning." "How's your eye?"
"It doesn't hurt anymore."
Sam looked at the coffee pot. "The coffee's done." They each made their coffees and sat back down "I think you should talk to someone."
"I can't."
"Are you ashamed?"
"If I talk to someone, somehow, someway, it will get made public." "I don't want anyone to know." "Please promise me you won't say anything to anyone."
"I promise."
"Thank you." They finished their coffee. "I have to go."
"I don't want you to go back there."
"All my clothes are there." "I have to pack for my flight home."
"You're not staying with him." She didn't say anything. "Hayley, no." "You don't deserve that."
"I'm gonna talk to him."
"If you ever need me, just call."
"I will."
"Please be careful." He said not wanting her to go back, but knowing he couldn't stop her.
"I will."
Hayley went back to her room. Lucas immediately got up and hugged her when he saw her.
"I'm so sorry Hayley." He said tearfully. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine." "You can't hit me again." "If you do, I'm filing for divorce."
"I won't." He said looking at her. "I promise."
"I love you too." He kissed her.
